Bioelectronics Engineering Innovating Electronic Device Design

Aguascalientes, Ags. February 7, 2023.- For all applicants wishing to enter our Panamerican University, we are pleased to invite you to apply for a scholarship. Panamericana who have a taste and creativity for technology, as well as an interest in the design of new devices, their best option is Bioelectronics Engineering.

A couple of years ago, the Electronic Engineering program at the School of Engineering of the School of Engineering of our university, had a modification with the purpose of focusing on more basic topics such as design, power electronics and semiconductors, but with this new twist, a medical vision was sought and with the use of biomechanical systems, such modification resulted in Bioelectronic Engineering.

The main objective of this engineering is to improve people's quality of life through the development of high technology.

Bioelectronics Engineering Program

This renewed discipline allows our students to develop skills and acquire knowledge in microelectronic design, control systems, telecommunications, as well as bioinstrumentation, e.g. sensors for medical devices such as electrocardiograms and encephalograms.

In addition, biomechanics addresses subjects such as assistive technologies, such as some type of wheelchair or cane device that a person with some degree of motor impairment or mobility complications may need, and medical robotics is complemented by the use of motors and sensors to capture signals.

Areas of study

Bioinformatics deals with knowledge about platforms, databases, different software on information design and analysis; digital biosignal processing from millivolt electrical signals that cannot be perceived by the naked eye in the body.

The electronic engineer and director of the career Angel Jimenez, says that the graduate must know how to handle issues of semiconductors or integrated devices, which have the most knowledge of the latest trends in technology (from design, operation, management, maintenance of fully advanced control systems, signal processing) and offer sustainable and renewable solutions for these systems.

The Panamericana has been very well known in the robotics field, however, very few identify that the participants in this race have not only been mechatronics, but also electronics.

UP Robotics

For many years, the UP Robotics project has been made up of different elements: mechanical, communications, electronic design and the programming and integration part, which includes the artificial intelligence team, where the bioelectronics team also has the necessary programming tools.

"The bioelectronics career, being very specialized, there are many jobs in companies such as IBM, Amazon, where integration of electronic devices, microelectronics, communications systems, among others," says engineer Angel Jimenez.

If you are interested in health issues but also in engineering, the Bioelectronics career is the best option.
