Engineering Alumni obtain Fulbright-García Robles Scholarship

Aguascalientes, Ags., June 27, 2024.- Alumni Julieta Nava Granados, from the School of Engineering of our Panamericana campus Panamericana campus Aguascalienteswas awarded the Fulbright-García Robles 2024 Fulbright scholarship to pursue graduate studies at Rice University.

In a ceremony that took place at the Mexican Bankers Club, in the Historic Center of Mexico City, Julieta, accompanied by the rector of the Aguascalientes campus, Mtro. Antonio de los Reyes Moreno, attended the farewell ceremony, which was also attended by high-ranking officials from the Ministry of Public Education and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as the U.S. Ambassador to Mexico, Ken Salazar.

An engineer committed to academic excellence

The mechatronics engineer and specialist in Intelligent Robotic Systems had always shown interest in the academic and research area, so she decided to apply for a postgraduate degree through the Fulbright-García Robles scholarship.

"Within the career - Mechatronics Engineering - the part I liked the most was electronics, in microcontrollers I understood everything, I said, I like this. I have been working in an electronics company for two years and everything has led me to focus on this area," he reports.

Thus, in August of this year, Julieta will begin her Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering at Rice University. Rice University located in Houston, Texas.

"At Rice University, they have a lot of opportunities in the health area, especially to make biosensors, which take sweat or saliva samples and detect and measure glucose and electrolyte levels. I am interested in exploring this area," he adds.

In addition, the areas of specialization that the engineer is interested in focusing on is integrated circuit design, as her work requires more knowledge in this area.

"I am very grateful to the professors of the School of Engineering for all their support and willingness to prepare me for my career. I think that is the most valuable thing that Universidad Panamericana has given me, the connection with the teachers," he says.
