MARKETING ALUMNI CREATE "COMUNA", THE PROJECT FOCUSED ON PROMOTING INTEGRITY AND CONTRIBUTING TO SOCIAL FABRIC

"Studying marketing at UP helped me to awaken my interest in wanting to do innovative things, that things turn out well and look good, and above all the companionship, I feel that this gave me 'salt and pepper' to be what I am today," said Ms. Gamboa.

With the vision of promoting community empowerment and social inclusion, Rosalicia Gamboa, Administration and Marketing Alumni of the Universidad Panamericana Campus Guadalajara, founded the developer "Comuna", an innovative program that seeks to improve the lifestyle of low-income communities, as well as contribute to the construction of an integral social fabric.

Comuna is an innovative programme, which depends on Infonavit's Hipoteca con Servicios, since through a small discount granted by the institution, the programme has managed to reach affordable housing and ally itself with housing developers in Mexico, sowing in the latter the importance of social responsibility in the creation of new communities and contributing to the social fabric through civic values. In order to carry out these social activities, there are representatives in each neighbourhood, who are fully aware of the needs of the families, and therefore are able to have an impact through valuable activities.

"The idea came about because I have always been moved and motivated by the social aspect; I saw the opportunity to innovate and carry out community work, which is what most fulfils me and satisfies me in my heart, so I consider this project as a goal to transcend as a person," shared the Alumni.

Currently, the programme designed by the Panamericana graduate, who holds the position of General Director, is on the verge of reaching the goal of 30,000 beneficiary families, through the quality and human service provided by Comuna. It also has around 60 people working and more than 150 collaborators belonging to maintenance companies. It should be noted that they carry out their activities with the most important housing developers in Mexico, managing more than 40 projects nationwide and benefiting more than 25,000 families.

On the other hand, in relation to her Alma Mater, the Alumni expressed that, "Panamericana has definitely impacted a large part of my life, starting with the integral formation of people, that is something that I bring intrinsic to my collaborators and to our social strategy; and without a doubt, the vocation to serve, always being at the service of people, being able to serve with joy and grace, all this I learned at the University".

Finally, he recommended to the university community to be 'sponges', that is, to learn and absorb as much knowledge as possible from teachers and colleagues, as well as to put into practice the values that distinguish Panamericana. "Explore the attitude of "as if", that will make you different and make you stand out from the rest, that's where extraordinary things happen," he said.

Panamericana congratulates Alumni Rosalicia, who, through her programme, has put into practice the values that distinguish the school, benefiting families in marginalised communities. It also prides itself on its great passion for promoting service to the social fabric, as well as forging leaders in community work due to its intervention for the common good.
