Every year, the College of Civil Engineers of the State of Jalisco A.C. awards the "ING. JORGE MATUTE REMUS" to the best averages of the students graduated from the Civil Engineering career, from each of the universities that offer it in the State of Jalisco.

Alumni María Fernanda García Aguas, from Civil Engineering and Administration at Universidad Panamericana Campus Guadalajara, was awarded the "Ing. Jorge Matute Remus Award" by the Colegio de Ingenieros Civiles del Estado de Jalisco A.C. in a ceremony held at the Colegio's facilities.

This recognition is awarded in order to acknowledge those students for their academic excellence and who have given the best of their efforts to achieve the highest graduation average, on this occasion in the period between September 2020 and July 2021, improving with this type of actions, the perspective and professional development of Civil Engineering.

This year a unique piece of art by Tonalteca artist Camilo Ramírez was awarded. García Aguas shares with us that for her, receiving this award was "very important and beautiful, as it stimulates students to continue improving as professionals and to always give their best. It also allows me to have a good curriculum and to start my professional career with this great distinction and recognition".

In addition to a great effort throughout her career, giving the best of herself in each of her subjects and projects, María Fernanda mentions that the role of Panamericana, in achieving this recognition, was very important. "It gave me all the support I needed to become a great civil engineer, providing me with great values and knowledge to succeed professionally and develop fully in my career.

In addition to this, this year's winner, who will continue to prepare herself academically and work to gain more work experience, concluded "I would like to thank my family, teachers, colleagues and friends who were with me along the way, because this award also represents them who were supporting me".

The Universidad Panamericana, through its School of Engineering, celebrates this important award and recognizes the dedication, effort and sense of responsibility of its graduate, who puts the name of our university and our faculty on a high level.
