Counsels receive training for Special Cases

A constant concern that the advisors of Universidad Panamericana have expressed is how to address the risk situations that students face. That is why Advisory launched the Special Cases training.

The purpose of this training is for the counselor to be aware of the difficulties that students may face both at a personal and school level, to provide an empathetic vision and to prevent the student from feeling judged. Its objective is to identify when the student is facing any difficulty, to support him/her and above all to direct him/her to an expert.

Although the counselors are not health professionals, they have the necessary tools to direct young people to one of the allied centers that UP has (Clinical Psychology Unit, University Health and Wellness Center, etc.) or to suggest external centers.

Likewise, they can provide follow-up and support to students if required, since the accompaniment in adverse situations makes the difference to overcome them.

This training is carried out through Moodle to give advisors the freedom to manage their time. Thus, during the August-December 2021 cycle , around 50 advisors were trained, and in the long term, all advisors at the Mexico City campus are expected to have this training for special cases, so that our students have an optimal development.

The Universidad Panamericana seeks to support students to overcome adversities and achieve professional and personal development, receiving the help they need.
