ZAPOPAN, Jalisco; November 11, 2022.- For the eighth consecutive year, the Universidad Panamericana campus Guadalajara opened its doors to students from different high schools through the Faculty of Engineering's technology and innovation event, Open Doors.
Open Doors 2022
The purpose of this event is for these students to learn about the careers that are part of the school' s curriculum and to take the opportunity to get to know the Panamericana's facilities.
In this event, Panamericana students showed their projects to the high school students and thanks to this, they had the opportunity to learn about the different study options in the engineering area.
Students from different high schools also competed in the wooden bridge and parabolic shooting competitions, in which they could compete alone or in teams of three.
The wooden bridge competition was attended by more than 70 students from different high schools and consisted of designing and building a scale model of a bridge, including a project presentation and budgeting.
Parabolic shooting
On the other hand, the parabolic shooting contest was attended by around 40 high school students and was divided into three competitions: calculator code, in which the code, interface and usability of the calculator are evaluated; academic competition, in this section the knowledge of the participants is evaluated through an exam; and finally the shooting competition, in this section there is a competition between two teams and the winner is defined by the number of hits or the efficiency of the shots.
"Today I am here in the bridge contest and the truth is that the process was very hard and a lot of effort, but we are very happy with the result, it turned out better than we expected" . commented Regina Pesquera, student of the Torreblanca School Center.
The Universidad Panamericana has the mission to improve every day to offer its students the best tools to meet the needs that the working world demands, and this type of event invites students to be part of that growth.
