Ricardo Monreal expressed that this agreement is a valuable opportunity to discover new talents, who contribute freshness and new ideas in the legislative work and in the proper administration of public resources.

"Derived from the interest in legislative work, it was generated and articulated between the student community, academic authorities of the Universidad Panamericana and the legal representation of the Senate, the signing of this instrument for the realization of professional practices of students," he explained.

He also emphasized: "For the students who choose to do their professional internships in different areas and facilities, it will be their first approach to working life, and in this specific case, to the political-legislative field".

He also took the opportunity to recall that on October 7, 2022, the First Youth Parliament was held in the Senate with the Universidad Panamericana, in which students had a practical exercise in parliamentary learning, in addition to the opportunity to work on the various stages of the legislative process.

For his part, Fernando Batista mentioned: "Law is a practical science, so the signing of this instrument will help future litigants to put into practice the knowledge acquired in the classroom".

In this way, he thanked the authorities of the Chamber of Senators for agreeing to sign the collaboration agreement with our institution, "because this legislative body is the space of the highest parliamentary deliberation in the country," he mentioned.

He also added: "(The Senate is) a space of pluralism, dialogue and understanding, so it is a privilege that, from this signature, our students will have the opportunity to learn from the great parliamentarians of the country and learn about their work, as pillars of our Republic".

Science, academia and legislative practice

Subsequently, Alejandro Armenta recognized the importance of bringing science and academia closer to legislative practice, because the Senate is the home of university students .

"We share with the Political Coordination Board a whole task of articulation in legislative matters, to update our constitutional regulatory framework, and I am sure that young people will find a space in the Senate, because this is their home," he said.
