1st Anniversary of the Talent Teacher Center

ZAPOPAN, Jalisco; April 29, 2024. Talent Teacher Center celebrated its first anniversary with a commemorative event at theGuadalajara Campus that brought together professors, as well as the team from the Institutional Center for Educational Innovation (CIIE) and academic authorities from the University of Jalisco. Universidad Panamericanaamong them:

  • Fernanda Llergo, Rector General of Universidad Panamericana and IPADE.
  • José Antonio Esquivias Romero, Rector of the Universidad Panamericana campus Guadalajara.
  • María de los Ángeles Padilla, Vice Rector General for Educational Innovation at Universidad Panamericana.
  • María Teresa Nicolás, Director of the Institutional Center for Educational Innovation at Universidad Panamericana.
  • Carlos López, Vice Rector of the Universidad Panamericana campus Guadalajara.

The welcome was given by Ms. Mariana De la Mora, Head of the Talent Teachers' Center Guadalajara campus, who highlighted the importance of this space as an ally for the academic and professional development of teachers. The purpose of Talent was to support and enhance teaching talent, as well as to provide training in innovative pedagogical and technological tools.

Dr. Fernanda Llergo, Rector General of Universidad Panamericana and IPADE, shared her message using Hologram Professor technology. This innovative tool gives students access to the best professors, specialists and prominent personalities in an interactive way, thus humanizing the distance learning experience.

During her speech, Dr. Llergo emphasized the value of educational innovation and the importance of focusing teaching on quality and personalization, adapting it to the individual needs of each student. She also highlighted the fundamental role played by both professors and students as essential pillars for the development of the university.

Dr. María Teresa Nicolás, Director of the CIIE, shared her vision on the importance of innovation in education during her presentation. She highlighted that artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming higher education by offering innovative tools and technologies that enhance the educational experience. Its importance lies in its ability to personalize learning, predict student outcomes and enhance advanced research. However, he highlighted that universities face challenges such as accessibility, ethics and data privacy when implementing AI, but also have the opportunity to address them effectively.

During the event, a video was presented that summarized the achievements made in the first year of operation of the Talent Teacher Center at the Guadalajara campus, as well as the launch of the first micro-credentials aimed at teachers seeking to expand and certify their skills in the digital and educational fields.

Dr. Ana Fabiola Martínez Hernández, an innovative teacher, shared her experience and vision on the use of Talent to enhance teaching talent. She highlighted the importance of being willing to make mistakes as a fundamental step to achieve originality in educational innovation, quoting the words of Sir Ken Robinson: "You will never do anything original if you are not prepared to make mistakes".

The event culminated with the awarding of micro-credentials to outstanding teachers for their excellent performance in the "Digital Teacher" course. The commitment and dedication of the teachers in the pursuit of educational excellence was recognized:
