ZAPOPAN, Jalisco; October 24, 2022. Library System of the Universidad Panamericana, the Universidad Anáhuac, the company Exlibris-Proquest part of Clarivate and the Ex Libris Users Group in Mexico (GUELM) celebrated its XXV annual meeting, in its 2022 edition.
XXV Annual Exlibris Meeting
This event was inaugurated by members of Universidad Panamericana such as Dr. Abraham Mendoza Andrade, Vice Rector General of Research; Dr. Manuel Bernal Coronel, Director of the Library System. Members of the Exlibris Users Group in Mexico; Mtro. Ricardo Zamora, Director of Libraries of Universidad Anahuac, Mexico / President of the Exlibris Users Group Mexico 2019 - 2022; Mtro. Jorge Alejandro Peña Landeros, Coordinator of Information Services and Resources /Vice President Exlibris Users Group Mexico. 2019 - 2022; as well as Alfredo Bronsoiler, Regional Director ProQuest Ex Libris part of Clarivate.
In this event, experiences of projects in libraries of Higher Education Institutions (HEI) in Mexico and Latin America, which have some of the products and services offered by the company Exlibris-Proquest part of Clarivate, were shared.
A success story
The Library of the Universidad Panamericanapresented the paper "Alma: Migration, pandemic and cyber attack. A success story". In which he praised the implementation of the current library management system of the university (ALMA), the discoverer (PRIMO/INVENTIO) and teamwork.
The event took place in a hybrid form, in a networking environment, bringing together 25 important IES, including the Instituto de Investigaciones Dr. José María Luis Mora, Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM), Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Occidente (ITESO), Universidad Anáhuac México y Veracruz, Universidad Autónoma de Chihuahua, Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana Xochimilco, Universidad de Guadalajara, Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara, among others.
The event concluded with the change of presidency of GUELM by Mr. Ricardo Zamora (Universidad Anáhuac) who passed the baton to Mr. Jorge Alejandro Peña LanderosUniversidad Panamericana), as well as the election of the GUELM vice-president, Mr. Ángel de Jesús Martínez Puente (ITAM).
To conclude the three-day event, GUELM members took a tour of the magical town of Tequila.
