March 19, 2024.- To formally recognize the value of the work of researchers of the Universidad Panamericana is of the utmost importance. It is for this purpose that the 4th Ceremony for theInvestiture of Research and Teaching Degrees was held at the campuses of Aguascalientes, Mexico City y Guadalajara.
Recognition of talent
Dr. Fernanda Llergo Bay, Rector General of the Pan-American University and IPADE, who was present at each of the ceremonies held, said: "The University's mission is to contribute to the common good, the development and progress of the society in which it is immersed, through two fundamental pillars: academia and research."
He also noted, "Our purpose transcends the boundaries of merely acquiring skills and abilities; rather, it stands as a journey of self-discovery, a relentless search for truth."
He also explained: "The university unfolds its fabric, weaving experience with erudition, discernment with imagination. It doesn't just mold minds, it nourishes hearts with a passion for learning and an insatiable thirst to explore. Teaching and research are two privileged tools to weave this noble work."
"In order to manifest coherence with this mission, consolidating and giving it the relevance it requires, at the Pan-American we decided to add a new valuation and formal recognition to academic work in all its dimensions, thus promoting, through Categorization, teaching, scientific and research work," he concluded.
Commitment to the Truth
In his speech, Dr. Santiago García Álvarez, rector of the Mexico City campus, highlighted the importance of the global vision, the commitment to the truth, the research work and the training of professionals committed to the scientific and human development of the Pan-American Highway.
"The maturity of the Universidad Panamericana With the passage of time, we now have an institutional framework that allows us to give much more quality to our professors and our students, to dedicate themselves fundamentally to that Pan-American notion of generating and transmitting knowledge," he said.
He also added: "One of the characteristics of the Pan-American University and its faculty is precisely that global vision, not that hyper-specialization, but also that capacity for interdisciplinary dialogue."
Oxygen of Knowledge
For his part, Dr. José Antonio Esquivias Romero, rector of the Guadalajara campus, commented that holding the investiture ceremony arouses deep pride in the university community.
"Our mission is to provide the community with the 'oxygen of knowledge,' that vital element that not only sustains our current existence, but also ensures our future flourishing. It is this knowledge that prepares us to live fully and meaningfully, both today and tomorrow," he said.
He also said: "In this ceremony, we pay tribute to eight professors whose work in research and social projection has been exemplary. Each of them embodies the values and principles of our university, contributing significantly to our mission of achieving academic and human excellence."
Making people think and discovering horizons
While Mr. Antonio de los Reyes Moreno, rector of the Aguascalientes campus, commented: "with the sense of justice when grading the tests, in the way of treating the students, and advising them through a cordial and friendly conversation, the teacher can make them think, discover horizons not thought of until that moment, teach to contrast points of view and to point out inconsistencies."
In the same way, he conveyed to the professors: "University life offers numerous opportunities for a dialogue on humanistic, ethical and personal issues, through which you can contribute to the development of the different human virtues in students and to the configuration of an upright criterion in fundamental questions."
"May this ceremony be a moment of celebration and pride, but also a reminder of the importance of our ongoing commitment to academic excellence and service on behalf of those around us."
