ZAPOPAN, Jalisco; September 1, 2022.- The Universidad Panamericana Campus Guadalajara held the last University Reforestation of this year, and the fourth in its history, in the Bosque de la Primavera, on August 28th.
The event was organized by the Social Commitment department of the Guadalajara Campus, from the area of Panamerican LifeThe objective of the event was to raise awareness among the university community about the care of the environment, to contribute to Guadalajara becoming a tree-covered city and to collaborate with the cleaning of the city's air through the reforestation of our forests.
Reforestation with commitment
A total of 52 people, including students, family members and University staff, planted 281 trees in the protected area of the Bosque de la Primavera.
In addition, Green Hug, a company from San Luis Potosi that makes clothing from sustainable materials, collaborated with Panamericana to purchase sweatshirts for the new students, who committed to organize a reforestation and give ecological workshops.
"This is the first reforestation I have done and it was certainly an experience that made me appreciate nature. In addition, I met more classmates from the University and lived with them," said Javier Vázquez, eighth semester student of Industrial Engineering and Business Innovation.
Added to those of the 3rd reforestation, which took place weeks before, the educational institution achieved a total of 431 trees planted this year.
Universidad Panamericana Campus Guadalajara thanks the support of the sponsor Green Hug, as well as the university community for being part of the last reforestation of the year in the Bosque de la Primavera, and invites other students to join future reforestations.
