Mexico City, October 30, 2025.—In a decisive step toward social justice, the Universidad Panamericana Free Social Legal Clinic (BJGS) Universidad Panamericana a strategic partnership agreement with the organization Mujeres en Acción MX (Be Strong and Brave), with a clear and urgent goal: to protect the human rights of pregnant women facing violence.
A solution to a social problem
This partnership was formed in response to an alarming trend identified by the BJGS in its day-to-day work: the growing number of pregnant women who are victims of violence, many of whom lack access to legal counsel or support networks.

Far from being a mere administrative formality, this agreement represents a direct step toward addressing an urgent issue that violates fundamental rights.
In the face of this gap, collaboration offers a beacon of hope. On the one hand, theBJGS—a project with more than30 years of historyrooted in the Universidad Panamericana School of Law—brings all the strength and expertise of the legal profession to the table.

Founded by students and faculty members of that school, the BJGS has been a cornerstone of social justice in the country. Over the course of more than three decades, it has provided free legal assistance to more than 51,000 people, including both direct and indirect beneficiaries, while training new generations of legal professionals with a strong commitment to social justice.
On the other hand,Mujeres en Acción MXis on the front lines, providing humanitarian, medical, and community assistance that is just as crucial as legal protection itself. Both organizations recognized each other as complementary pieces of the same puzzle.
A comprehensive response where it is needed most
The strength of this partnership lies in its multidimensional approach. It will no longer be just about providing a single legal resource, but about building a comprehensive support pathway. Women who come seeking help will find:
- Legal support:specialized legal advice and representation from BJGS to handle complaints and protective measures.
- Emotional support:psychosocial support and community support networks provided by Mujeres en Acción MX to promote healing and personal recovery.
- A preventive approach:both organizations will work together to promote educational initiatives aimed at preventing gender-based violence during pregnancy.
Through this partnership, the Universidad Panamericana, via the BJGS, reaffirms its humanistic mission and its commitment to building a more just and compassionate society.
It demonstrates that the law, when practiced with excellence and a sense of humanity, is a powerful tool for transforming lives, and that strategic partnerships are the way to address the most complex social problems.

This partnership demonstrates that the most effective solutions arise from collaboration between academia and civil society, and that when faced with vulnerability, the response must be collective, specialized, and hopeful.
