Aguascalientes, Ags., April 4, 2025. The School of Food Business Management of the Universidad Panamericana campus Aguascalientesreaffirms its commitment to social impact through Cooking with Actionan annual gastronomic project that seeks to feed people in vulnerable situations.
With the active participation of the students of the Bachelor's Degree in Gastronomic Business Management, this solidarity effort allows the donation of more than a thousand balanced and nutritious dishes.
Social commitment through gastronomy
Social impact is a fundamental pillar of Universidad Panamericana. In collaboration with the area of Social Commitment, the School of Food Business Management developed Cooking with Actioninspired by the international initiative Gastronomy Schools Weekpromoted by La Tablée des Chefs whose aim was to involve chefs and pastry chefs in the fight against food insecurity and food waste.
The objective of this program is to to combat food insecurity and food waste through the active participation of students through the active participation of students, teachers and companies in the gastronomic sector. Year after year, the students of the Bachelor's Degree in Gastronomic Business Management are involved in the preparation of one thousand portions of a complete dish, benefiting vulnerable communities in Aguascalientes and its surroundings.

Cooking with a social conscience
"When we prepare our dishes we take care that they have a good nutritional balance and at the same time have a great taste. Bue aim to provide an experience of eating something delicious and nutritious."adds Mitzi Pérez Alvarado. This project benefits community kitchens, homeless people, homes for the homeless and nursing homes. This edition benefited communities such as Che Guevara, Las Ladrilleras, Hogar para Abuelitas y Abuelitos Trinitarios, Ciudad de los Niños, Casa Hogar Dulce Refugio and Comedor Comunitario Guadalupe A.C., which brought this food to the families of patients hospitalized at Hospital Tercer Milenio, Hospital de la Mujer and Urgencias de la Clínica 1 del IMSS.
This year the second and fourth semester students prepared a menu consisting of a nutritious chicken burger with lettuce, tomato, onion and toppings, accompanied by a serving of shredded vegetables (carrot and cucumber), a strudel strudel for dessert and hibiscus water. It should be noted that many of the hamburger buns and toppings were made by the students from scratch.
Collaboration with organizations such as the Scouts of Aguascalientes and companies that donate supplies has been key to the success of the project, allowing for an efficient and safe distribution of the food.
"We invite the entire university community to join us in this beautiful project, whether they help us cook or distribute the food. The intention is that they can contribute their grain of sand," says Mitzi.says Mitzi.
