UP and Fundación Becar promote change with a diploma in Educational Anthropology

Mexico City, December 10, 2024. Last Friday, November 29th, the auditorium of the Universidad Panamericana, Mexico City campus was the venue for the closing ceremony of the Diploma in Educational Anthropologyin Educational Anthropology, carried out in conjunction with Becar Foundation.

This training program was a milestone in the professional development of 375 teachers, coordinators and directors. 375 teachers, coordinators and principals belonging to the network of schools affiliated to the Foundation, reaffirming the commitment of both institutions to the training of educators as agents of social and educational change.

During the ceremony, the following were present Cecilia CanalVice Chancellor of the Panamericana; Dr. José Alberto Ross Dr. José Alberto Rossdirector of the Institute of Humanities of Panamericana; Rocío Mier y Teránformer director of the Humanities at Panamericana; former professional golfer Lorena Ochoa, former director of the Humanities at Panamericana; and Lorena Ochoaambassador of Fundación Becar; and Patricia Vázquez del Mercadopresident of Mexicanos Primero.

Program that transforms educational communities

The diploma course, endorsed by the Institute of Humanities of the Universidad Panamericana, was designed to strengthen integral education and values formation, and was carried out between September 2023 and June 2024.and was held between September 2023 and June 2024.

In her speech, María TejedoDirector of Educational Programs at Fundación Becar, highlighted the importance of the diploma course, pointing out that "educating is not simply transmitting knowledge, but forming people with criteria and values"..

Innovation with social impact

The diploma course participants were able to apply their learning to 86 innovative projects that addressed educational and social problems, contributing to the integral development of the schools in which they work.

The ceremony included the awarding of the three most outstanding projects, selected by an evaluation committee for their impact, creativity and relevance:

  1. Montefalco Schoolfor its identity project and institutional values.
  2. Gota de Leche Schoolwith a focus on emotional skills for children from 3 to 12 years old.
  3. Christel House School, with a bullying prevention program.

Action and commitment 

Patricia Vázquez del Mercado reflected on the importance of pedagogical decisions: "Without teachers there is no future. Every decision they make in the classroom has the power to transform lives and build a better Mexico".

For her part, Lorena Ochoa motivated attendees to overcome obstacles with perseverance and passion: "Personal and professional balance is key to inspiring others and achieving extraordinary results."

An educational educational alliance with social impact

The collaboration between Fundación Becar and Universidad Panamericana reinforces the commitment of both institutions to the training of teachers as agents of change. to the training of teachers as agents of change.
