Mexico City, October 12, 2023.- The School of Engineering of the Universidad Panamericana hosted, from August 27th to September 7th, the prestigious international program international program WetSkillswhich brings together talented young people from around the world to collaborate on water challenges and foster innovation in this vital area for our planet.

Global Context

Water is essential to life, playing a fundamental role in human health, ranging from food production to economic development and environmental sustainability. In a global context, access to clean and safe water is a challenge for many communities.

Encouraging innovation in this area is vital because it enables us to find effective and sustainable solutions to water scarcity and pollution, among other problems. Likewise, innovation in water-related technologies and practices is crucial to ensure an adequate water supply for future generations.

 

WetSkills, through competitions, mentoring and international collaborations, seeks to develop creative and sustainable solutions to the water-related problems we face globally.

For this reason, during the competition, the engineering students of our university made teams to face specific challenges. In them, they had to apply theoretical and practical knowledge to develop innovative solutions, which led them to develop projects in which they demonstrated their dedication and skills in the field of water and engineering.

International recognition

The event culminated with a grand finale that took place at the Aquatech Fair, the world's leading showcase for the water industry, where our students stood out for their dedication and creativity in problem solving.

The winners were honored at a special ceremony held at the Ambassador's House of the Netherlands. This international recognition not only highlights the talent and effort of our students, but also places Universidad Panamericana on the global map of innovation and academic excellence.
