The Office of the General Vice Rector (VGI) at Universidad Panamericana continues to strengthen its commitment to the internationalization of research through intensive training programs for its research faculty.
Under the direction of Professor Abraham Baltazar León Soto, Institutional Research Coordinator, who is responsible for leading the strategy to attract and manage external funding for research projects, the VGI has placed particular emphasis on Module #3 of Horizon Europe: From Idea to Funding. This initiative aims to foster collaboration and advance international research.
In this edition, 20 professors participated in person at the Guadalajara (GDL) Campus, and more than 50 professors participated online from the Aguascalientes (AGS) and Mexico City (MX) Campuses, demonstrating the enthusiasm and commitment of our academic community to the advancement of international research.
Horizon Europe
Horizon Europe, recognized as one of the most important programs at the international level, stands out for offering the research community at Universidad Panamericana a significant opportunity Universidad Panamericana participate in research and innovation projects with financial support from the European Commission.
This program not only seeks to promote scientific excellence and gender equality, but also focuses on addressing societal and technological challenges to build a greener, more prosperous, and more resilient Europe. Horizon Europe’s openness to international collaborations provides an opportunity for Latin America and the Caribbean to contribute to and benefit from the program, fostering mobility and collaboration on a global scale.
In this context, the training highlighted the contributions of two prominent figures: Viktoria Bodnarova, Regional Coordinator for EURAXESS LAC, and Dr. Angélica Cuapio, known for her track record in securing Marie Curie Fellowships and her role as an Expert Evaluator for the European Commission. Bodnarova presented EURAXESS – Researchers in Motion, a comprehensive portal offering a wide range of services, information, and support to researchers and innovators interested in advancing their careers through international mobility.
On the other hand, Dr. Cuapio shared her invaluable experience in securing funding and discussed the importance of the Doctoral Networks and Marie Skłodowska-Curie (MSCA) fellowships in strengthening the research capabilities and professional development of researchers.
With a focus on excellence, mobility, inclusiveness, and support for open science and responsible research, MSCAs is a vital resource for the research community at Universidad Panamericana in its pursuit of excellence and sustainable development.
This module has not only enhanced the knowledge and skills of the University’s research faculty, but also highlighted the unprecedented opportunities that Horizon Europe offers for scientific advancement and international collaboration. Through these initiatives, Universidad Panamericana is strengthening its position as a center for innovation and cutting-edge research, ready to tackle global challenges with creative and sustainable solutions.
Through all these efforts, the VGI underscores its mission not only to attract external funding, but also to prepare its research community to submit robust and globally competitive proposals.
