The research generated in the Universidad Panamericana is always aimed at making contributions to the scientific advances of the world and improving our teaching quality, as well as contributing to the solution of the challenges facing our country today.

This year, we are especially proud that, despite the global impact of the pandemic and the challenges we have faced as a community, we have not only maintained the growth, leadership and quality of our publications, but also improved the recognition, visibility and research results of recent years.

Thanks to the efforts of our professors, for example, 49% of our scientific production in 2021 will be published in Q1 and Q2 journals, where the visibility of our research results improves significantly. It is important to mention that with the progress achieved today, we continue to be the second private institution in Mexico with the highest volume of scientific production indexed in Scopus.

The next steps in the research strategy that has been promoted by the Rector's Council will be aimed at identifying and obtaining financing funds, as well as the implementation of an innovation and technology transfer ecosystem that will allow us to complete the cycle of applied research, the sustainability of the projects and their economic and social impact.

Here I would like to acknowledge the effort to carry out the first Intellectual Property call, which not only had the objective of promoting the rights and benefits of the creations or innovations developed at the University, but also to promote a transfer culture that allows us to move from theory to practice with greater naturalness and institutional sense.

The innovation and transfer strategy will be led by the recently created Corporate Innovation and Transfer Department, whose objective is to connect the generation of new knowledge with the creation of economically viable solutions. To this end, in addition to building policies, it will support us with the development of intellectual property and knowledge transfer programs.

On behalf of the Institutional Research Council, I would like to express our most sincere appreciation to the entire academic and management community who are working to achieve the research objectives.

Dr. Abraham Mendoza Andrade
Vice Rector General for Research
