Mexico City, December 4, 2023.- With the objective of joining efforts and resources aimed at promoting a more effective joint participation of the Universidad Panamericana y Roland Berger Global Consulting signed a collaboration agreement.

Roland Berger is a global strategic management consulting firm headquartered in Munich, Germany. Founded in 1967, it operates in 36 countries. Its services focus on generalist strategies to improve the performance of companies and organizations in diverse industries such as energy, chemicals, automotive, technology, finance, communications, healthcare, transportation and consumer goods.

With this signature, both institutions will be able to jointly carry out programs, training, diploma courses, postgraduate courses, projects, academic and scientific research, development, innovation, technological production and promotion, educational, cultural, artistic and scientific activities to promote entrepreneurial, legal, academic and educational culture in our country.

In addition, this alliance will allow Panamericana to recruit students from various careers for the consulting firm, including Industrial Engineering and Innovation Management, Business & Management, Innovation and Design Engineering, Hospitality Management, Economics, Accounting, Administration and International Business.

First Mexican university to partner with Roland Berger

During the protocol ceremony, held at our university, were present for Roland Berger Mexico S.A. De C.V., Gilberto Lozano Meade, CEO Senior Partner Mexico and Panamericana alumni; and Dr. Santiago García Álvarez, rector of the Panamericana campus Mexico; as well as the legal representatives, Patricia Santa Anna Echandi and Rodrigo Espinosa de los Monteros Arámbula, with the assistance of Mtro. Marco Antonio Galindo Corona.

Also present on behalf of our university were Mr. Salvador Beltrán del Río, Director of Institutional Development, and Mr. Marco Antonio Galindo Corona, Deputy Director of the Rector's Office, as well as directors and students from schools and faculties of this university.

The Universidad Panamericana is the first Mexican university to sign this type of alliance with Roland Berger, who sought to work in collaboration with the university and IPADE, due to the prestige of both educational institutions.

Roland Berguer, as a consulting firm, is working on lines of research that converge with Panamericana, including: nearshoring, sustainability and human capital development, which will be published upon completion. In these projects, our university and IPADE will collaborate with researchers, professors and students.

University with social sense

During the protocol ceremony, Dr. Santiago Garcia shared his enthusiasm regarding the collaboration agreement with Roland Berger. He emphasized that the university has always had a strong social sense since its foundation, oriented towards the Latin American contribution.

"The university's commitment has been focused on training outstanding professionals, characterizing them not only by their academic skills, but also by their quality as people. I hope that the collaboration with Roland Berger will allow the university's potential to be further deployed in that direction," said the rector.

He also stressed the importance of the combination of traditional academic training and the integral development of the personality in today's working world, underlining the need to form an allied team. He also emphasized Panamericana's interest in establishing partnerships that place its students in the best positions.

Shared dream between Berger and UP

For his part, CEO Gilberto Lozano Meade expressed his satisfaction for signing a collaboration agreement with Universidad Panamericana, especially as he is an alumnus of this university: "this effort arises from a shared dream between both institutions, which was conceived approximately a year and a half ago," he said.

The CEO mentioned that, with time and the needs of the firm, they will seek to broaden and deepen the collaboration agreement. In particular, they want this to be the starting point to contribute to the growth of the university, identifying and nurturing talent that the company can leverage.

In addition, they aspire to raise Mexico's standards nationally and internationally, especially in data sharing and public policies. He also stressed the importance of exploring new areas and generating disruptive processes and change in the country, and anticipated the start of joint activities.
