Innovation at the service of people
In this new episode, Mtro. Santiago Reinoso Velasteguí, professor at the Humanities Institute of the Aguascalientes campus, interviews Dr. Gabriela Durán Aguilar, head of the Innovation and Design Engineering program. During the conversation, Dr. Durán shares the personal story behind her project "Victoria", an artificial lymphatic vessel that seeks to improve the quality of life of millions of people suffering from lymphedema, a disease commonly associated with breast cancer.

Gabriela recounts how her personal experience as a cancer survivor led her to undertake this project, which is not only a technological breakthrough, but also a tribute to her grandmother, Victoria, who also bravely battled cancer. "Victoria is more than a medical device; she is a symbol of resilience and hope," says Dr. Durán.
La Panamericana promotes entrepreneurship
Throughout the episode, Dr. Durán highlights the crucial role that the people closest to her have played in her project. From the multidisciplinary collaboration with experts from different fields to the unconditional support of Panamericana's Technology Transfer Department, the "Victoria" project is a living example of how the support of close relationships fosters an innovation ecosystem, so that students, researchers and professors can dare to turn their ideas into concrete solutions to real problems.
"The Universidad Panamericana provided me with the support and resources necessary to take this project from an idea to a tangible solution that can change lives. I am deeply grateful for the support of everyone who has believed in 'Victoria' and its potential to transform the lives of thousands of people," says Dr. Durán.

Through the Technology Transfer Department, Gabriela had access to specialized advice on innovation, intellectual property and industry liaison. She also had access to state-of-the-art laboratory infrastructure and the support of a network of mentors, experts in various disciplines, who guided her through each stage of the process, from initial research to the design and development of the prototype.
Future of the project
