ZAPOPAN, Jalisco; April 30, 2024.- The Franz Mayer Museum was the stage for the awards ceremony of the National Design Award Diseña México MX 2023, where the Universidad Panamericana was honored with important awards for its outstanding participation in the field of industrial design.

What is it?

The National Design Award: Diseña México is the most prestigious award in the field of design in our country, whose purpose is to highlight the quality of Mexican design and demonstrate how design can improve the quality of life of the population and increase the competitiveness of companies and institutions.

Its objective is to reward companies, institutions and designers that have driven innovation through the strategic use of design. This distinction recognizes those who contribute to improving the quality of life of the population and to increasing the competitiveness of companies and institutions.

Recognition of the Universidad Panamericana

In the Doctoral Thesis category, Dr. Fabiola Cortés received the first prize for her proposal entitled "Propuesta de un proceso de diseño para el desarrollo de camillas de expulsión", presented in the Doctorate in Engineering program of the Faculty of Engineering of the Guadalajara campus.

Product Design and Technology Awards

The Engineering and Design team, composed of Mtro. David Vidaña, Dr. Leonardo Valdivia, Dr. Gabriela Durán and Dr. Alberto Rossa, together with Margarita Kaplun, PhD student, received three awards for their project "Calibrator for thermography equipment Dauik_22", developed for the company Kapter ®. The awards were for Best Product Design, Best Interface Design and the Project with the Highest Technological Impact.

Recognized Environmental Innovation

In the environmental field, the postgraduate students of the Specialty in Design and Technology (EDT), Elizabeth Baranzini Rogel, Xelha Corona Mejía, Ana Cristina López Arévalo and Andrea Sarahí Ruiz Téliz, received an Honorable Mention for their innovative project "KL-Mar", a drone designed for cleaning the seas.
