Serve with discretion

Dr. Llergo thanked Pablo Legorreta for his presence and mentioned his discretion as a donor: "Your discreet personality, the fact that it does not say your name there (on the commemorative plaque), but that you mention your family, the fact that in recent months you have gone through difficult times and in spite of that you have been able to attend to the requests that the Board of Trustees has had for you, is a credit to your person" .

He also spoke about the character of UP's graduates, who today can be found in Europe, Asia, North America and Latin America: "(Our alumni are) people who carry that DNA of Christian imprint, of universal values, of openness and open arms, of all creeds and religions; who want to commit themselves to a job well done, to serious, profound and ethical research and who want to influence with a spirit of service".

In his speech he also pointed out Panamericana's commitment to the construction of a better Mexico: "we are committed to a society and a country". He also added in reference to the prudence demonstrated by Legorreta: "We want to form leaders who serve and I will add: who serve with discretion" .

He also mentioned that the virtue of hope is fundamental: "It is very important to have hope, because it is what moves us to be able to do things in life. If we think about it, the two words, innovation and hope, are linked".

He also pointed out: "If we think about what causes or what is the source of innovation and progress, it all starts with education and that is why institutions like UP are so important to continue educating this young country".
