Mexico City, November 18, 2022.- Business & Management celebrated, at Ciudad Panamericana, the presentation of People Vertex a book written by Dr. Rafael Gómez Nava, director of the company's operations and policy areas and former CEO of IPADE Business School.

The book recapitulates Gómez Nava's ideas, reflections and personal learnings about the work of the CEO. In it, he poses ten challenges to enrich those who serve, or are to serve, as leaders of a community of people toward a common and valuable purpose.
For this event, in addition to the author of the work presented, Dr. Fernanda Llergo Bay, Rector General of UP and IPADE; Dr. Santiago García Álvarez, Rector of the Universidad PanamericanaLeonor Quintanal Martínez, director of the Ciudad Panamericana campus, as well as Business & Management students.

Dr. Llergo spoke of how the book presented really portrayed real aspects of the life of a CEO. "I think this is a book that gives clear guidelines on management (...) This book is the dreams, sleeplessness, learning, joys and reflections of a CEO. (...) I want to invite you to get excited about Personas Vértice," he said.
Afterwards, the author of the book explained that for him, the writing of the book represented a deep introspection of his work at IPADE, which implied: "recapitulating lessons learned in order to be able to capture them so that they could be useful," he said. He also pointed out that the book is, in a way, a guide that would have been very useful to him before he became director.
When asked by Ms. Quintanal about the importance of forming a good work team, Gómez Nava mentioned: "a company is what its people are, but the definitive configuration of a company is what the top management is and specifically what the CEO, or top person, proposes as a direction, as a style, as a culture, etc.", she stated.
"I believe that the solitary CEO, who does not have a team to back him up, today more than ever is unfeasible. It is unthinkable for a CEO to be an expert in everything (...) he needs a solid, expert team that adds value," he added.
He also said: "If I had to recommend something to a new CEO, it would be to make a thorough diagnosis of who his team is, why he has that team, to what extent the team challenges him and to what extent it is servile (...)". He concluded by quoting from his own book "if your team does not challenge you, it is a bad team" .
