UP recognizes Lanzagorta Alverde family for their humanism

Mexico City, November 7, 2022.- The Lanzagorta Alverde family, one of the families that has provided the most support to Universidad Panamericana and IPADE, was recognized by the Pan American community through a ceremony held at Ciudad Panamericana, in which a hall was inaugurated in honor of Don José Lanzagorta and in which family members were present, as well as university executives.

Unconditional support

Panamericana's Vice Chancellor, Dr. Héctor Ramírez, addressed those present and mentioned: "it is a privilege to open this event to recognize one of the families we admire greatly for their trajectory and appreciate even more for their unconditional support and the special affection they have had for Universidad Panamericana and IPADE for more than five decades".

Similarly, Ramirez spoke about the great progress that Ciudad Panamericana has made and the great future that lies ahead, which will allow us to train more people to be agents of change. He also reflected on the people and the mission that unites them, which gives them the strength to move forward, bringing out the best in each of them to achieve the institution's objective.

Afterwards, Dr. José Antonio Lozano, Chairman of the Board of Governors of Universidad Panamericana and IPADE, addressed the family to express his gratitude: "Today we are here to thank you with great pleasure and emotion (...), institutions are a consequence of their own history and history is shaped by people".

In turn, Lozano spoke of how moving it was to see members of the community gathered for the occasion and reflected on how happiness is achieved when we understand what our purpose in life is.

Heritage for future generations

At the moment of inaugurating the classroom, the General Rector of Universidad Panamericana, Dr. Fernanda Llergo, spoke to those present about Don José Lanzagorta: "he was generous, he offered company, he offered the best he had and today we are witnesses that Don José's life made possible the existence of institutions that will be forever".

Likewise, speaking on behalf of the Universidad Panamericana and IPADE, he mentioned how the name of Don José Lanzagorta will remain in the memory as that of a man who dreamed of helping future generations and who not only dreamed, but carried out actions to fulfill his purpose. Likewise, he thanked the family and the people who have made the Panamerican what it is to date.

To end the ceremony, Javier Lanzagorta, thanked the Panamericana's directors for their words and for making the event possible. He also spoke about the way his father, Don Jose Lanzagorta, marked and educated him, as well as his family, which has supported him throughout his life.

Ciudad Panamericana is the first UP campus to be built entirely with donations, thanks to the support of a board of trustees and donors who, through a fundraising campaign, have made the first stage of this great project a reality today.
