ZAPOPAN, Jalisco; August 24, 2022.-Inorder to support different causes and with this raise awareness in the university community for the construction of a better world, the 2nd Donation and Collection Campaign was held at the Guadalajara Campus, last August 16, 2022. Universidad Panamericana Guadalajara Campus on August 16, 2022.
Donations and collections
1. ELECTRONIC WASTE
In order to promote the care of the environment, we invite the community to bring the electronic waste they have at home.
Working in conjunction with Technology Conservation Group.
2. RECYCLING AND REUSING GLASS
In order to give a new use to glass, bottles will be collected, which will be useful for people with autism and aspergers who make glass products such as: vases, candles, glasses, ashtrays, among others.
Working in conjunction with Fundación HACE, A.C.
3. REUSE BOOKS
From April 23, 2022 to April 22, 2023 Guadalajara will be the World Book Capital. International distinction created by UNESCO. This is a commitment to promote books and reading as a tool to preserve knowledge, spread culture and promote peace. The donated books will be delivered to the City Hall and will be part of the City's literary mailboxes(https://gdlee.mx).
Joint work with the Guadalajara City Hall.
4. RECYCLING OF BOTTLE CAPS
Support to children with cancer for the purchase of treatments, medicines, medical equipment, among other needs.
Working in conjunction with Canica A.C. and Mi Gran Esperanza A.C.
5. REUSE SCHOOL SUPPLIES
In order to give a 2nd use to the school supplies, we receive the supplies that you have at home which we donate to institutions for the beginning of the school year.
Working together with pro-education projects.
6. DONATION FOR CHILDREN WITH CANCER
The donation will support children with cancer from 0 to 18 years of age with limited resources and will be delivered to the Zoquipan Hospital and the Civil Hospital in December 2022.
Working in conjunction with Proyecto Gorritos con Causa.
7. DONATION TO SOCIAL PROJECTS
Different social projects led by University personnel were supported, among them:
- El Palomar, Jalisco and El Salvial, Jalisco. Municipality of Ixtlahuacan del Río. Both communities have a high socioeconomic backwardness and are in a state of significant vulnerability. In El Palomar we are helping with the construction of the ranch's chapel. In both communities we will visit the families.
Working in conjunction with Altovalle.
- Low-income families in the communities of Mezcala and surrounding areas. Reconstruction of the home of a low-income family, as well as the delivery of toys to more than 2,200 children in the area at Christmas.
Joint work with Promoción Rural Familiar - Mezcala.
- Support will be given to 20 children who will make their First Communion.
Joint work with UP Catechism.
- Support will be given to homes that live on charity, low-income families with many needs.
Working in conjunction with Rinconada.
8. DONOR REGISTRATION
Thousands of people with blood diseases are waiting to find a compatible stem cell donor. One of our main objectives is to grow the registry of potential bone marrow donors, as only 30% of patients have a family member who is a full match, leaving the vast majority dependent on the generosity of a stranger.
Work in conjunction with Be The Match Mexico.
A total of 83 people participated in the Campaign (65 students, 16 collaborators, 2 external volunteers).

20 people signed up at Be the match to be potential bone marrow donors.
We thank the entire university community for joining the campaign, which has a great impact on the awareness of environmental care, the promotion of culture, interest in others, reuse what is considered as garbage, as well as the impact it has on the circular and sustainable economy to together generate a permanent and positive impact on society.
