Today, this day is celebrated to commemorate the Day of Love and Friendship; in that sense, Professor Daniel Gómez Pimentel, head of the Pedagogy area at the Mexico City campus, with more than 20 years of experience in education in Latin America, gave a lecture on "Dating: are we or are we not" at our Panamericana Campus Bonaterra.

Courtship: we are or we are not

"A happy relationship is one where the woman is in charge and the man believes he rules; women are anthropologically trained in a different way to be able to better manage human relationships", this is how Daniel Gómez begins his lecture.

"Human beings tend by nature to complement each other, to seek in others what we don't have," he says.

All human beings are saturated with needs, and one of the basic needs of human beings is to be loved.

One of the things that predominated in the conference is freedom in a relationship. "Through freedom we love and through love we are free, people think that when people tie themselves to a relationship then they are already slaves of the other person and they ask themselves are you tired of being free?", says the teacher.

"At this age you're not more than twenty years old, but at this age you can't end your life so quickly, and if you're going to end your single life then let it be for something worthwhile, for someone worthwhile, but you have to do it freely," he adds.

One problem of current courtships is that it is hard to give up, that is, to choose only one person. " Only free humans are capable of love".

According to the Royal Spanish Academy (RAE) , commitment is a contracted obligation. What is the difference between being committed and not being committed?

Likewise, commitment means that the person assumes the roles that correspond to him/her and takes responsibility for his/her actions.

"The commitment that is truly made is called love," he adds.

"One thing that gives a lot of value to human relationships in all cultures is the issue of faith, and if you marry in church, it is because you believe you will receive a particular grace to face that marriage," he concludes.
