The event was also attended by Dr. María de los Ángeles Padilla, vice rector of the Institutional Center for Educational Innovation; Dr. María Teresa Nicolás, director of the same center and Ms. Cecilia Canal, vice rector of the Mexico City campus, who had a panel in which they informed those present about the new educational trend.

"We have a strategy for the 21st century, which includes power skills, modifying the educational model and changing the teaching methodology because our students must learn for a world in which we don't know what to expect," said Canal.

The micro-credentialing program seeks to equip advisors with specialized skills and knowledge, recognized through digital credentials, that are valuable in both academic and professional settings.

Educational trends

Micro-credentials provide concentrated training in specific areas, allowing those who take them to acquire additional competencies that complement their main education, "they are paper or digital certificates that endorse the acquisition of competencies through knowledge and experiences of short duration," explained Dr. Nicolás.

During the meeting, the importance of this program in the context of current educational and labor trends was highlighted. "Education cannot remain static. It must evolve with society and the demands of the labor market," emphasized the CIIE director.

Such an innovative approach not only prepares students for professional success, but also fosters continuous learning and adaptability essential in the 21st century.

Key to personal and professional development

The micro-credentials offered at Panamericana are characterized by their flexibility and relevance. They are tailored to various areas of study, from technical skills to interpersonal competencies, allowing students to customize their educational path according to their interests and career goals.

In addition, the use of digital badges ensures that these credentials are internationally recognizable and verifiable, adding significant value to the training received.

"The first smart digital certificates will be issued for the first three generations that have taken SMART diplomas and more than 400 digital badges for all advisors who have taken a course," said Dr. Nicolás.

With the implementation of micro-credentials, the university not only adapts to the changing needs of the contemporary world, but also leads the way to a future where education remains the key to personal and professional development.
