Mexico City, August 28, 2025.— To promote student participation and strengthen dialogue with the university community and university officials, the Student Association of the Universidad Panamericana SAUP) held the swearing-in ceremony for its executive committee for the 2025–2026 term.
The event, held in both Mixcoac and Ciudad Panamericana, was attended by officials such as Dr. Santiago García Álvarez, Dean of the Mexico City Campus , and Antonio Castro D’Franchis, MBA, Director of Student Life.

SAUP 2025–2026
The presidents-elect of the student councils for each degree program have elected Deniss Rosas Sánchez (president of Talent Management) as president of the SAUP; Montserrat del Carmen López Cerecedo (president of Administration and Finance) as vice president; and Diana Michael Lázaro Urrea (president of Administration and Marketing) as secretary general .
Meanwhile, at Ciudad Panamericana, Mateo Santos Guerrero (president of the Government Club) has been elected president of the Student Council; María Fernanda Peña Echezarreta (president of the Industrial Engineering Club) has been elected vice president; and María Fernanda Díaz Calvo (president of the Economics Club) has been elected secretary general.
Dedication and Commitment
In his farewell speech as outgoing president of the SAUP, Josemaría Garcés Fernández thanked the university community, parents, and student organizations for their support during his tenure. He highlighted the creation of new communities and sustainable projects that will endure beyond his term, emphasizing that leadership is an act of service and a commitment to positive change at the university.
“This position represents service, dedication, and commitment—values that are reflected in the leadership of each of us,” he said.
Similarly, he stated that the SAUP served as a “school for learning to be a young civilizer” and expressed his confidence in the new generation of leaders, whom he encouraged to continue working with dedication and to keep the legacy of service alive.
Listen, learn, and serve.
During her address, Deniss Rosas Sánchez, president of the SAUP for 2025–2026, emphasized that leadership is based on listening, learning, and serving. She also thanked the outgoing administration for laying a solid foundation and stressed that her role is not about her personally, but rather about working as a team to represent the students and strengthen the university’s identity and unity.

He also invited the community to build a more united and accessible university and issued a call to the community: “I invite you to join me in making this administration a living testament to the fact that service is, truly, the highest form of leadership,”, he concluded.
Commitment to Service
Montserrat López Cerecedo, Vice President for 2025–2026, then emphasized that leadership is not a position but a commitment to service, empathy, and teamwork. She also highlighted her vision of building a united community where every student has a voice and a sense of belonging.

He also proposed a term focused on transformative projects, inclusive activities, and the creation of meaningful spaces. And while he acknowledged that there will be challenges, he said he was confident that the collective strength of the community would overcome any obstacle, as long as humility, a passion for service, and a desire to leave a positive mark on the university prevail. “The strength of our community is far greater than any challenge,”, he said.
Voice of UP Students
Next, Michael Lázaro, Secretary General for 2025–2026, highlighted the privilege of serving as the students’ voice and a driving force for change. He announced his commitment to strengthening the bond among student body presidents, consolidating the SAUP as a support system for all student councils, and promoting initiatives that foster value, creativity, and innovation.

At the same time, he emphasized the importance of transparency through semi-annual reports and encouraged students to get actively involved, think big, and seize opportunities to grow as professionals and leaders with strong values.
Finally, he invited the community to come together: “Today I invite you to feel proud of being Pan-Americans, to believe in yourselves, to never settle for less than your dreams, and to trust that, together, we can ensure that this 2025–2026 term is remembered as a period of growth, innovation, and community.”
A legacy of resilience
From Ciudad Panamericana, Pablo Velasco Munguía, , a member of the outgoing SAUP board, reflected in his closing remarks on the lessons learned during his term, in a context marked by uncertainty, highlighting the challenge posed by the sinkhole that forced the organization to temporarily relocate its headquarters.
He emphasized that flexibility in the face of the unexpected made it possible to turn adversity into opportunity by adapting to circumstances with creativity.
He also highlighted the collective power of students to influence their surroundings and thanked his team and the authorities for their support. Finally, he emphasized that individual talents, combined with a shared purpose, were key to their achievements, laying a solid foundation for future leaders.
