Then the outgoing president of Mixcoac, Paulina Cerda, welcomed the incoming SAUP and reminded them that being leaders is not a position of power but of service: "Continue with a legacy full of work, service and effort," she said .
He also expressed: "Beyond all the skills I acquired this year, I learned that you can really change the world, and that this change does not come from a massive action, but from small actions and from people who want to make a difference (...)".
Spirit of service
The symbolic exchange of the baton was celebrated with Josemaría Garcés Fernández, incoming president, who spoke.
"We are going to exercise the attitude of service that promotes the Universidad Panamericana and to foster an environment conducive to university participation in the social, cultural and academic spheres. We want to give students the opportunity to live an interdisciplinary and enriching experience, and to rescue the sense of fraternity among all the careers, with the purpose of building a solid institutional identity," he said.
This was followed by the presentation of awards to the SAUP 2022-2023, a moment that served as an opportunity for the director of University Life to reiterate the mission of the alumni society: "You help the entire university community to live their university," he said.
