Panamericana celebrates the 21st edition of the UP Games

ZAPOPAN, Jalisco; March 14, 2024.- As has become a tradition, the Universidad Panamericana Campus Guadalajara, through the Alumni Society (SAUP), organized the 21st edition of the UP Games at the Anahuac Chapalita courts.

The main purpose of this event is to encourage the practice of sports, promoting the values of competitiveness, friendship and collaboration in the different disciplines in which the students are involved.

During the twenty-first edition of the UP Games, the university community actively participated in a variety of sports disciplines, including soccer, basketball, volleyball, ping-pong and foosball. The teams are composed of students studying the same degree program.

Each year the number of participants in the tournament has increased, although the number of participants has also increased.

How many teams participated?

With respect to the number of participating teams, there were 32 men's and 16 women's soccer squads; 12 men's and 6 women's basketball teams; 24 mixed volleyball squads; 14 participants in the ping pong tournaments; and 16 futbolito teams.

For this edition of the UP Games, the following brands participated: Electrolit; Aga; Paradisso; Lux; La Histórica Jersey Club; Pica Chups; La Chilaquiza; Andros Gyros; Gusgo Crepa; Blazz Burritos; Elotes La Wuera; Jolly Molly; Bowlito; Popis Tacos; Lonches Rafa; Marquenieve; and Aguas Costa.

Marla Orozco, student of Industrial Engineering and Business Innovation, said that what she liked most about the UP Games was "Having the opportunityto spend time with my friends in the sports field, cheering for the Industrial team at the top of my lungs and having made it to the volleyball final with a great team".

Sebastián Larrauri, a student of Communication, Advertising and Public Relations, confessed that he was very excited "to see the entire university community united in the same event, getting out of the routine and having fun playing a sport representing their own careerHe said that he was thrilled "to see the entire university community united in the same event, getting out of the routine and having fun playing a sport representing their own career, talking, eating or laughing.It was a very fun and emotional event for me since I was able to be part of the organization of the event".

Carla Ontiveros, an Architecture student, shared that "As always the atmosphere at the UP Games felt amazing. Playing and supporting the games was one of the coolest experiences of the event. Between the food and hydration there was a lot of variety and everything was great. All in all,it was a very cool event and the passion of my friends and team was what remained the most".

José Carlos Soto, a Communication and Journalism student, said that what he enjoyed most about the UP Games was "The family atmosphere in the air.The family atmosphere in the airIt is a day to have fun in a healthy way with your friends".

Rebeca Pérez, a student of Psychopedagogy, said that what she liked most about the UP games were "the different activities that were offered.the different activities that there were apart from playing with your team. Being a team participant, I had a lot of fun playing, heavy because of so many games, but they are enjoyable".

The Universidad Panamericana Campus Guadalajara congratulates the Alumni Society for successfully organizing the 21st edition of the UP Games. At the same time, it is proud of its students for being part of this tradition in all disciplines and invites them to continue participating in future editions.
