Zapopan, Jalisco; January 23, 2025.- In an effort to strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem of the region, the Universidad Panamericana Guadalajara campusthrough its business incubator and accelerator Spark UPhosted a key meeting with the Municipality of Zapopanled by Daniela Gómez Montemayor, Director of Entrepreneurship and Innovation.Director of Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
The purpose of this event was to consolidate programs that promote innovation and innovationinnovation entrepreneurship and economic development in Jalisco, as well as strengthening institutional relationships, with a strategic vision for the future.
The meeting was attended by key representatives from the academic and governmental spheres. On behalf of the university, the following attended the meeting Alejandro Tiscareñodirector of Spark UP; Dr. Daniela Salgado Dr. Daniela Salgadodirector of research; Dr. Fidencio Tapia Dr. Fidencio Tapia, head of research; Mtro. Mario Lealdirector of graduate engineering; Mtro. Juan Pablo Patiñodirector of business graduate programs, and Mtra. Enedelia Hernández, head of the pedagogy postgraduate academy.

Also in virtual mode was the participation of Juan Alberto González Piñóncorporate director of innovation and entrepreneurship at the institutional level.
A comprehensive approach to entrepreneurial support
During the meeting, the following flagship programs of the municipality were presented Made in Zapopan, Zapopan Challenge, Woman Undertakes y Kids Challengewhich seek to benefit entrepreneurs of different profiles, from micro and small businesses to future generations.
One of the most outstanding projects was the collaboration with the Wadhwani Chairin alliance with an Indian institution, to design comprehensive training programs aimed at strengthening the capabilities of microenterprises in the region. In addition, key initiatives were mentioned such as:
- Personalized consulting for entrepreneurs.
- Free training in business in business skills.
Strategic collaboration: academia, industry and government
The Dr. Daniela Salgadodirector of research at the Universidad Panamericana campus Guadalajara, proposed documenting and analyzing the impact of these programs through research focused on collaboration between academia, industry and government. This proposal seeks to generate useful knowledge to improve the effectiveness of the programs and to reinforce the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Jalisco.

With more than a decade of collaboration, the relationship between the Universidad Panamericana and the Municipality of Zapopan continues to evolve to respond to the current needs of the community. This strategic alliance not only drives entrepreneurship and innovation, but also positions the university as a key player in the economic and social transformation of the region.
