Aguascalientes, Ags., September 30, 2024.— Students from the School of Education and Psychology at our Panamericana’s Aguascalientes campus receive an arts scholarship from R. Evolución Latina, a New York-based NGO that promotes the development and growth of Latin American youth and adults through various artistic disciplines.
During the summer of 2023, Michelle Raimond, María José Armendáriz, and Liliana Cruz—director and coordinators of the Art and Culture Department, respectively—took a course in Cultural Arts Production and Management in New York City, and it was then that an agreement was signed with R. Evolución Latina, which, in addition to training Latin American talent to break into the art world’s major leagues, offers programs and collaborations with various Broadway production companies.
As part of the first joint activities, Gabriela García, one of the founders of R. Evolución Latina, taught a summer course on musical theater at the Universidad Panamericana Aguascalientes Universidad Panamericana .
A source of pride for our Pan-American Highway
Gabriela García, along with the R.Evolución Latina committee, recognized the students’ great talent and decided to award two full academic scholarships for the “Dare to Go Beyond” educational program, which will take place in April 2025.
Thanks to their skills, talent, and dedication, students Ingrid Méndez and Agustín Domínguez—both psychology majors who are also part of the Panamericana arts community—were selected to take part in this incredible experience, where they will train in dance, singing, and acting.
“This opportunity shows that we’re doing things the right way. I plan to give it my all and do my best to make sure it turns out well,” says Ingrid.
He also emphasizes that this artistic experience will greatly benefit both his artistic career and his academic studies in psychology.

“For our Panamericana, this is an extraordinary opportunity for our students to make a name for themselves both nationally and internationally. We are very pleased because what we strive for in the areas of University Life is for our students to develop, make a name for themselves, and go beyond,” says Dr. Jorge Franco, director of University Life.

“I’m really excited about this opportunity. I want to challenge myself and then pass on this knowledge so that it paves the way for future generations. Plus, it’s going to help me grow tremendously, both personally and professionally,” adds Agustín.
On the other hand, Agustín wants to learn as much as possible about the techniques used by others who have performed on Broadway at a more advanced and professional level.
This partnership between the Department of Art and Culture at the Universidad Panamericana Aguascalientes Universidad Panamericana and R. Evolución Latina on Broadway aims to provide students with a broad perspective on artistic growth and development on an international level, where they can also put their skills and social abilities to the test.
“Establishing this partnership with the organization is a testament to the trust they have in our work and the results they’ve seen. It also makes me proud to see the impact the university’s work is having,” says Michelle Raimond, Director of Art and Culture.
We would also like to highlight the work of all the theater, singing, and dance instructors who have trained the students who are now bringing honor to our Panamericana.
It is worth noting that both students took part in the premiere performance of the musical “The Prince of Egypt,” which took place in May of this year.

“We are proud of our students, because the work we have done in the Arts and Culture program is not only technical training but also a form of personal development, which is reflected in the selection made today by R. Evolución Latina,” says Grethel Arcos, Arts and Culture coordinator.
This opportunity not only fosters our students' talent but also enables them to become ambassadors for R. Evolución Latina in Aguascalientes, so that in the future they can be the ones to recruit new talent.
