Mexico City, September 10, 2024.— The Alumni of the Universidad Panamericana hosted the book launch for ESG: The Commitment to a Sustainable World. Current Issues, Challenges, and Opportunities, edited by Juan Carlos Luna Barberena, a law school alumnus and founding partner of Lawgisti and LAWIT GROUP.
The event aimed to promote and raise awareness of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) concepts as a comprehensive strategy that drives positive change in companies and contributes to a more sustainable future.

About the Play
The book *ESG: The Commitment to a Sustainable World: Current Trends, Challenges, and Opportunities* is a collaborative work that brings together 22 experts from various disciplines to address key topics such as business, finance, governance, regulation, energy, technology, and entrepreneurship.
The book was edited and published with the aim of providing a comprehensive overview of how ESG criteria can be applied to improve companies' long-term performance and promote sustainable practices.

The presentation was attended by officials from our university, including Dr. José Antonio Lozano Díez, president of the Governing Board of the Universidad Panamericana —IPADE; Cecilia Canal Garrido, M.A., vice president of the Mexico City campus; and Salvador Beltrán del Río Madrid, M.A., director of Institutional Development.
Also in attendance were María Goerlich, director of Tirant lo Blanch; Juan Carlos Luna Barberena, partner and founder of Lawgisti and LAWIT GROUP; and Valentina Villa, counsel and director of Corporate Social Responsibility at Creel, García-Cuéllar y Enríquez, S.C.

These include Adalberto Méndez, attorney at law and international consultant on responsible business conduct, business and human rights law, ESG, DEI, and CSR; Eileen Matus, founder of Reg(X) Simplificando la función and expert in regulation and economic competition; and Gustavo Alanís-Ortega, president of the Mexican Center for Environmental Law A.C. (CEMDA).

ESG and Its Impact on Companies
During the event, the book was officially launched, and several of the authors shared their perspectives on the topics covered in the book. There was also a presentation focusing on the importance of ESG criteria and their impact on companies, as well as on sustainability and corporate social responsibility.
During his remarks, Gustavo Alanís-Ortega said, “ESG is more than just a strategy; it is a comprehensive vision that allows us to create a more just and sustainable future for everyone.”

Dr. Lozano stated: “ Universidad Panamericana is proud to be the birthplace of initiatives that drive positive change in the business and social spheres.”
These events help strengthen Panamericana’s reputation as an institution that promotes knowledge and discussion of current issues of global relevance. Furthermore, they position our university as a key player in the promotion of sustainable and responsible business practices, in line with its commitment to training leaders with a deep sense of social responsibility.
