Three Perspectives on Grief and Resilience
Armando de Jesús San Martín highlighted the power of Paula Pliego’s personal testimony:“I fell in love with the book because I realized that the colorful cover wasn’t a contradiction, but rather the perfect reflection of the message contained in its words: the promise that, even after the darkest pain, it is still possible to continue painting the world with color and light.”

For his part, Jesús Eduardo Hurtado highlighted the book’s call to live with more love than pain, emphasizing three key actions in the face of suffering: “to look to heaven, to accompany one another, and to bless others from our own wounds”. He also emphasized the value of silent companionship and faith as tools of comfort.

For his part, Dr. José Antonio Lozano addressed the concept of “a life well-lived” and how losses, though painful, can be a path to purification and growth. “Pain purifies us and helps us see more clearly. Paula’s message is a beacon for those walking through the valley of tears,”, he noted.

The Origin of the Book: Healing Through Faith and Writing
Paula Pliego, a graduate of the Universidad Panamericana Bachelor of Accounting program Universidad Panamericana a finance specialist, explains that her book emerged from one of the most painful and transformative periods of her life. During the pandemic, she faced the loss of four loved ones in just a month and a half, the loss of financial security due to a decline in income, and the profound pain of migration.
That experience also gave rise to the need to write about other forms of grief, such as divorce, and about the immense courage it takes to embrace a new way of life: learning to let go without fear.

Her story is an invitation to discover that, even in the midst of the most devastating losses, human beings have the ability to rise up, reinvent themselves, and find hope. Because when pain is transformed, it gives way to a life that is more mindful, resilient, and full of purpose.
“This book began as a form of narrative therapy. I wanted to foster a culture of mourning and a spiritual culture, especially for the younger generations,”, he said.
The author emphasized the importance of consciously working through the stages of grief (denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance), and highlighted the fundamental role of faith in her process:“Put God in the driver’s seat of your journey and follow His instructions. That was my guiding light.”
A work of hope for those facing grief
The Significance of Loss: When Grief Transforms is more than an autobiography; it is a spiritual and emotional guide that combines personal testimony with theological and psychological reflections.
The central message is clear: it is possible to find meaning and purpose even in the midst of the deepest pain.
