Benny Ibarra, special guest

Since the beginning of the Music and Innovation career, Benny Ibarra has been a professor of Music Production at EBA. For this reason, when he was asked to participate in the concert of the 2024 edition of Tocando sueños, he did not hesitate to agree with the best spirit and willingness to support the project that benefits his students.

His extensive career supports him as the complete artist that he is, so having him as a member of the faculty of the EBA is something that fills the school with pride. In addition, he is a teacher close to the students, always willing to help them in whatever they need and share his experience with them.

Showcase of EBA talent

The repertoire chosen for the occasion was intended to give a representative sample of the repertoire that the students work with: from classical with Samuel Zyman, one of the most representative Mexican composers of this century; the jazz ensemble and four of the most outstanding students of pop singing .

Similarly, student Eddy Herrera, made the orchestral arrangement of the song Somewhere in the Crowd, while 8th semester student, Chay Diego García, made the orchestral arrangement of the songs performed by Benny Ibarra.

With this selection and arrangements, a small sample of what the students at the School of Fine Arts achieve was given: to become complete and versatile musicians in any kind of genre.

First level orchestra

Another important participation was that of the students of the Bachelor's Degree in Music and Innovation who play in the Symphonic Orchestra of the School of Fine Arts of our university, which has a high level and is essential for the formation of the students.

These students not only require discipline and dedication to study the individual parts, but also learn to work as a team with a common goal, but where each one has a well-defined role.

They also develop many aspects of musicality and life skills, such as mutual respect and listening, to name a few.

Investing in art

The EBA hopes that the scholarships raised through Tocando sueños will continue to increase year after year, as they point out that supporting music education is more than investing in notes and rhythms: it is investing in the integral development of people and in the enrichment of society as a whole.

They also point out that music education contributes to economic development by training musicians and music industry professionals, generating employment and promoting innovation in the creative sector. It is an investment that transcends generations and leaves a lasting legacy of harmony and understanding in the world.
