Mexico City, June 22, 2024.- With the aim of discussing strategies and innovations that can raise the quality of health care services in the face of current and future challenges, ESDAI Postgrados of the School of Hospitality of the Universidad Panamericana celebrated the Healthcare Excellence Forum: Perspectives and Challenges.
The event brought together experts in the field of healthcare from the perspective of hospital management, technological innovation and medical communication, such as Ms. Elsa Juárez Rojas, Director of Quality at Médica Sur; Mr. Enrique Culebro Karam, expert in information technology and senior management; C.P.A. Carlos González Bernal, co-founder of Finventure; and Dr. Gustavo Rojas Velasco, Chief Medical Officer of Finventure. Three years of the Healthcare Excellence Forum
In her opening message, Mariana Basurto, academic head and leader of ESDAI Posgrados, said: "In ESDAI Posgrados, through the Master's Degree in Health Institutions ManagementWe seek to develop management skills that allow our students to generate an adequate strategic planning that combines the clinical, administrative and operational areas, having as an integrating axis the care of the person".
He also added: "It is a pleasure for us to welcome you today to this panel that we have organized for three consecutive years now and that has become a meeting place for our students, alumni, professors and health professionals who wish to stay at the forefront of care and attention in health care services".
He also thanked all those present for their attendance, "we look forward to meeting you year after year in this space," he added.
Pillars to achieve quality of life
Dr. Gustavo Rojas highlighted the importance of security, quality public education and universal access to health as pillars to achieve quality of life for the population. He pointed out the difficulties Mexico faces in achieving these goals due to the complexity of the health system.
Elsa Juárez Rojas emphasized inequality as the great challenge in the health sector, and proposed staggering the processes and budget allocated to hospitals through a long-term project that commits to continuity between governments.
Necessary changes in the health care system
Enrique Culebro Karam, addressed technological adoption as a challenge and an opportunity in the healthcare system, highlighting the phenomenon of the digital patient and the importance of the system's stakeholders understanding this change in patient behavior.
Carlos González Bernal highlighted the lack of universal health coverage as a crucial problem and proposed that private initiatives complement government initiatives to ensure that health services are accessible and of higher quality.
In conclusion, the panelists agreed on the need to integrate technology, improve the quality and safety of care, and ensure universal health coverage. They also highlighted the importance of collaboration between the public and private sectors to face the challenges of the Mexican healthcare system.
Attention to the individual
Amelia García Casas, dean of ESDAI, the School of Hospitality of Panamericana, closed the forum by highlighting the importance of seeking the centrality of the person in health care services, through hospitality that ensures quality and warmth.
He also emphasized the importance of maintaining a continuous dialogue between the university and the health sector in order to touch on realities and thus generate better strategies for professional training and institutional management.
