ESDAI Annual Dinner 2024: Excellence and Passion for the Art of Serving

ZAPOPAN, Jalisco; November 15, 2024.- The School of Hospitality ESDAI of the Universidad Panamericana campus Guadalajara, celebrated its emblematic 2024 Annual Dinner. This event marked the twentieth anniversary of the alliance between the university and the prestigious ALLIANCE Hospitality & Culinary Arts of the Lyfe Institute of Lyon.

This collaboration has been fundamental for the training of students, as it has allowed them to access international diplomas and broaden their academic horizons in the hospitality and gastronomy sector.

A high-level experience: leadership and teamwork

The Annual Dinner was not only a tribute to excellence, but also an opportunity for the students to demonstrate their skills. They took on the challenge of planning, designing and executing every aspect of the event, applying advanced knowledge of food management, hygiene standards and event management.

The Cecilia González Romodirector of the Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Managementhighlighted the importance of teamwork: "We are gathered here because of our shared passion for excellence in hospitality. This event reflects months of planning and the talent of our students and professors as they translate ideas in translating ideas into set-ups, ambiance and an exceptional menu".

Grand Hospitality Award

During the event, the Magno Hospitality Awardwhich rewards the best hotels for excellence in various aspects. The evaluation criteria included the quality of the facilities, decoration, functionality, service, menu, and certifications.

This year, the award winners were the Hotel Hyatt Regency Andaresrepresented by its general manager, Maurine Duhart, and director of operations, Jessica Salgado; the JW Marriott Guadalajararepresented by its general manager, Christian Ramos; and the Hilton Guadalajara Midtownwith human resources manager, Daniel Flores, and human resources coordinator, Jaquelin Santiago.

A menu designed to surprise

The menu, created by the students, was a unique culinary experience.:

  • Amuse-boucheMediterranean trilogy with spanakopita, Lebanese hummus and Greek salad.
  • Cold starterSalmon gravlax with eggplant caviar and fine herbs cream.
  • Intermediate sorbetCanadian ice wine with green apple and fresh mint.
  • Main courseTonkatsu with gochujang sauce, mashed sweet potato and daikon salad.
  • DessertClassic opera with chocolate ganache and pumpkin ice cream.

Each dish was designed to designed to highlight the technique and creativity of the and creativity of the students, showing a high level of professionalism in gastronomy.

Special guests: academic and corporate presence

The annual Hospitality dinner was attended by distinguished academic authorities and representatives of the tourism and business sectors. Among the distinguished attendees were Dr. Abraham Mendoza Andraderector of the Universidad Panamericana campus Guadalajaraaccompanied by the vice rector, the Dr. Francisco Orozco Argoteand Dr. Rafael Hernández Cázares, vice rector of the Guadalajara campus. Dr. Rafael Hernández CázaresDirector of Institutional Development, Dr. Rafael Hernández Cázares, and Martha Rodríguez Arochageneral secretary of the Guadalajara campus.

At the governmental and corporate level, the Vanessa Pérez LamasVanessa Pérez Lamas, Secretary of Tourism, honored the event with her presence, as well as Mtra. Fernanda LandaFernanda Landa, director of the Guadalajara Convention and Visitors Bureau, and Karina Meneses Mendoza, general manager of Hotel Camino Real, representing the Jalisco Hotel Association. In addition, Emilio Huarte, senior regional manager LATAM of Circe Engineering Group, joined the special guests, making this evening an even more relevant event.

Reflection and recognition

Renata Tobar-Amadora participating student, said: "This annual dinner is a showcase of our passion and learning. It has been an honor to showcase our efforts in a night that transcends borders.".
