PRESENTATION AT THE 9TH COLLOQUIUM ON RESEARCH IN THE ARTS

The Department of Arts and Culture of the Universidad Panamericana, Campus Guadalajara participates in the 9th Colloquium of Research in Arts "The science of communicating the arts. The art of communicating science", within the thematic axis "Case studies of successful and unsuccessful strategies in the dissemination of artistic and scientific knowledge", gives the presentation: "Capturing University audiences".

The purpose of the Colloquium in Arts Research

The Colloquium on Research in the Arts aims to provide a space for reflection among academics, communication professionals, artists and art managers, among others, in relation to the role of public communication of artistic knowledge and the relationships it establishes with scientific knowledge, aspiring to have better informed, educated, critical and participatory societies.

Since 2007, the Center for Studies, Creation and Documentation of the Arts (CECDA) of the Universidad Veracruzana has carried out eight editions.

For the 9th edition, held through virtual platforms from November 16 to 19, CECDA also invited journalists, as well as disseminators of artistic and scientific knowledge to participate in a reflection exercise under the theme "The science of communicating the arts. The art of communicating science."

Speakers and Moderators

Dr. Ignacio Acosta, Andrea Covarrubias and Katia Aldrete -Director, Coordinator and Professional of the Department of Art and Culture- presented last Friday, November 16 at 11:45 a.m. the paper "Capturing University Audiences" at the Tenth Round Table "Communication of Knowledge from University Spaces", moderated by Dr. Rubén Morante López, Master in History and Ethnohistory from ENAH with honorable mention and Doctor in Anthropology from UNAM, where he was awarded the Alfonso Caso National Prize. Arts Research Colloquium

The speakers, based on the case study of the Department of Art and Culture of Universidad Panamericana, Guadalajara campus (which operates with 6 employees and 189 student collaborators, mostly from undergraduate degrees related to the business and engineering academy), presented experiences, methodologies, failed and successful strategies for the dissemination of artistic and cultural content, where digital marketing and student involvement have been essential axes.

Arts Research Colloquium

The 9th Colloquium also included the participation of Omar Zamora Sánchez, science communicator and content creator, winner of the National Journalism Award, as well as professionals from CONACYT, the National Institute of Fine Arts and Literature, UNAM, the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla, the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León, and the Universidad de Guanajuato, among others.
