Mexico City, February 13, 2024.- The Rector General of the University of Mexico and IPADE Universidad Panamericana and IPADE, Dr. Fernanda Llergo Bayled Encounter 2024an event designed to share the achievements, results and vision for the future that will guide the path of these institutions towards the year 2027.

With three years of leadership at the helm of the Office of the Rector General, Dr. Llergo presented a detailed balance of the progress and consolidated projects thanks to the collaboration of its headquarters: Aguascalientes, Mexico City and Guadalajara, as well as the IPADE Business School. This joint effort has made it possible to remain at the forefront of market trends and the education of the future.

Christian Identity: Humanities in Action

One of the most significant milestones highlighted by Dr. Llergo was the creation of the Institute of Humanities, whose mission is to promote the visibility and consolidate the pillar of Christian humanism. This institute has become a formative space that seeks to cultivate in students values oriented to the common good, fostering a positive impact on their immediate environment, families, country, society and the world in general.

Currently, the Institute has 60 full-time professors, of which 21 are part of the National System of Researchers (SNI) of CONAHCYTdemonstrating our commitment to academic excellence.

The Humanities Institute has also excelled in research, with five research groups generating 26 publications indexed in SCOPUS in 2022. In addition, its proposal of person-centered feminism has led to the publication of a book that came out last May.

Social Commitment: Community Impact

Panamericana and IPADE have demonstrated an outstanding social commitment, annually impacting more than 1.2 million people throughout the country. This impact is made through initiatives aimed at addressing needs in areas such as health, housing, education, development, legal advice, community care and the environment. This sustained effort has led to CEMEFI's certification as a Socially Responsible Company , a recognition that highlights the company's commitment to social responsibility.

Educational innovation and internationalization: adapting to the future

Pan American has embraced the mega trends in education by adopting the hybrid model called Connect UPwith 70% face-to-face and 30% virtual classes. This model has been recently validated by the prestigious Arizona State University Arizona State Universityconsolidating the quality of the academic programs.

In the area of internationalization, 6.7% of eligible undergraduate students participated in exchange programs. This percentage exceeds many private universities in Mexico and stands out even more in comparison with the Latin American average of 3.2%.

Research: scientific advances and academic quality

Research has been a cornerstone for Universidad Panamericana, with a total of 2,645 publications registered in major international databases such as Scopus and Web of Science. Web of Science as of September 2023. This performance places it as the second private university with the second highest number of scientific papers indexed as of 2019.

The emphasis on improving the quality of publications is also evident, with an impressive 60% of the papers published in high-ranking journals (Q1 and Q2), representing an unprecedented advance in the history of the institution.

Sustainability: Leaders in Environmental Care

Panamericana has been ranked first among private universities in Mexico in the GreenMetric World University Rankings. GreenMetric's World University Rankingwhich evaluates aspects related to the environment and sustainable development.

In addition, it is among the top 20 universities in Latin America and the top 120 in the world in terms of sustainability. This recognition highlights the institution's commitment to environmental preservation and the promotion of sustainable practices.

Regarding IPADE, Dr. Llergo underscored its continued excellence, highlighting the quality and relevance of the programs, as well as the high level of the academic faculty. This recognition is reflected in its inclusion in the world's most prominent business school rankings, such as the Financial Times Executive Education Ranking, where it is in the TOP 20 worldwide for executive education.

In the academic field, it maintains the "Triple Crown", being part of the select 1% of global institutions that hold accreditations from EQUIS, AMBA and AACSB INTERNATIONAL, certifying its quality as an international business school and its excellence in MBA programs.

Reflections on the university as a living organism

Dr. Llergo concluded her presentation by stressing that the university is a "living organism" in constant movement . She emphasized the importance of reflection in order to be at the forefront, balancing the perennial with projection into the future.

In a context marked by a pandemic, geopolitical tensions and economic challenges, he stressed the need to adapt without losing sight of the fundamental values that have guided the institution since its foundation.

Current and future outlook for Panamericana and IPADE

Currently, the university community has more than 21,200 people, including students, faculty, administrative and support staff. With more than 37,000 graduates and 155 researchers belonging to the SNI, the university has experienced significant growth in the last three years. It is worth noting that 64% of the enrollment benefits from some type of scholarship, demonstrating the commitment to educational accessibility.

The current academic offerings include 298 undergraduate and graduate programs, 16 of which have been added in the last three years. With more than 37 programs with the possibility of international recognition, Universidad Panamericana and IPADE are positioned as leaders in academic and professional training in Mexico.
