ZAPOPAN, Jalisco; November 28, 2023. Universidad Panamericana Guadalajara Campus hosted the VI International Congress on Commercial Law. The event, led by leading academics and experts in the field, was held with the aim of analyzing and exploring the most relevant challenges and emerging opportunities in the field of commercial law.
Under the distinguished opening presidium formed by Dr. Isabel Álvarez Peña, Dean of the School of Law; Dr. Soyla H. León Tovar, Research Professor and Congress Director; and Dr. Edmundo Romero Martínez, Director of the Institute of Legal Research and Congress Coordinator, two days full of keynote speeches, specialized panels and enriching debates began.
Thematic Diversity and Expertise
The first day of the congress was marked by a keynote lecture by the Spaniard, Dr. José Miguel Embid Irujo on "The interests present in current corporate law", followed by panels that addressed crucial issues such as directors' liability, challenges of commercial law and current corporate problems.
The second day continued with panels that explored corporate issues, new horizons for shareholders, the integration of artificial intelligence in the commercial field and the complexity of contracts and insolvency in corporate groups.
Future Prospects
The welcome speech offered by the authorities of the Universidad Panamericana highlighted the importance of this international meeting for the legal community, emphasizing the relevance of sharing knowledge, experiences and fostering global collaboration in an environment where the challenges of commercial law are increasingly complex and global.
