Throughout the 5th reforestation of the Universidad Panamericana Guadalajara Campusa total of 931 trees have been planted.

ZAPOPAN, Jalisco; August 14, 2023.- The Universidad Panamericana Campus Guadalajara held for the fifth time in its history the University Reforestation in Tala, Jalisco last Saturday, August 12.

The event was organized by the Social Commitment department of the Guadalajara Campus, from the area of Panamerican LifeThe event was organized by the Social Commitment department of the Guadalajara Campus, in conjunction with Bosque Urbano de Extra A.C., with the objective of raising awareness among the university community about caring for the environment, collaborating with the cleaning of the city's air through the reforestation of our forests, and also developing the fundamental principle of the University "living to serve".

Reforestation in Tala, Jalisco

With the help of 88 members of the university community, of which 83 were students and 5 were collaborators, 150 trees native to Tala, Jalisco were planted.

Among the trees planted were: Majagua, Rosa Morada, Primavera, Fresno Uhdei, Sauce, Ahuehuete, Chapulixtle, Guaje, Retama, Tepehuaje, Mezquite and Guamúchil. Size of 1 meter.

The fifth reforestation began at 6:45 AM when they left for the reforestation site in Tala, Jalisco and concluded at 11:30 AM when they arrived at the University.

"On our 5th Reforestation we were very happy with all the achievement we have made over the years thanks to these actions in which we voluntarily assisted to do our bit. I am happy to see the happy faces of the students when they participate, how they organize among themselves defining activities to achieve the objective they have as a team to plant their trees and to see how they start their semester very happy to participate in something that has transcendence," said Ekatherine Acosta, head of Social Commitment.

"Ipersonally like the initiatives that UP has, since I consider myself a person who cares a lotabout theenvironment, water, natural resources, the use of resources, and therefore I find it very interesting that the school gives us the opportunity to go to the forest and plant a tree," shared Jimena Padilla, a volunteer student of Industrial Engineering and Business Innovation.
