Zapopan, Jalisco, August 1, 2025.—The Universidad Panamericana Guadalajara Universidad Panamericana , through its Social Engagement department, held its Annual Meeting of Partner Institutions, an event focused on professional development and recognition for civil society organizations that collaborate with the university in the holistic education of its students.
This year, the focus was on the responsible use of artificial intelligence (AI) in social projects.
More than 50 organizations and 73 external volunteers participated in the event, which included team-building activities, an awards ceremony, and the main workshop: Application of Artificial Intelligence in Social Programs, led by Paola Pasciuta Marco, M.A., a specialist in organizational development and professor at the Universidad Panamericana.

Artificial Intelligence with an Ethical and Social Focus
During the workshop, Ms. Pasciuta discussed the benefits, risks, and best practices of using AI in the social sector, emphasizing its value as a support tool, not a replacement for humans. “AI should be viewed as an enabler of creativity and social impact, not as a substitute for ethical and human thinking, ” she said.

Participants learned how to use tools such as DeepSeek, Gemini, HEYGEN, and Cockatoo, and received guidance on creating effective prompts, understanding cultural biases in AI, and acting as critical and responsible users of these technologies.
Education, technology, and social awareness
In addition to technical training, the event fostered collaborative dialogue, strengthened partnerships, and trained agents of change. A group breakfast and a plant raffle symbolized the shared growth between the university and its partners.

This annual event is one of the highlights of the UP Social Commitment calendar, as it aims to give back and provide training to those who make our students’ social work possible.
