The Universidad Panamericana Campus Guadalajara is pleased to announce the award of its fourth Utility Model, highlighting once again its commitment to innovation and technological development. This achievement has been made possible thanks to researchers José Luis Villa López and Héctor Rubén Acevedo Parra, who have designed the "Waste receiving mat for urinals"..

Fourth Utility Model
This innovative device, intended primarily for the restaurant, service, manufacturing and household goods industries, significantly improves hygiene in public or private restrooms. Its design captures the small amounts of urine that escape from the urinal's reach, incorporating an absorbent core that not only retains liquids, but also prevents the emanation of unpleasant odors. In addition, its interchangeable cartridge system facilitates fast and efficient cleaning, effectively addressing the problems of contamination and bad appearance in toilets.

This utility model, registered under number MX/u/2023/000172 and valid until 03/05/2043, is testimony to the ongoing efforts of Universidad Panamericana to promote applied research and technology transfer. The protection conferred by this registration is comparable to that of a patent, underscoring the importance and originality of the proposed innovation.
UP Center for Intellectual Property Management
Dr. González Piñón, Corporate Director of Innovation and Transfer of the General Vice-Rector's Office for Research, highlighted the work of the Intellectual Property Management Center at Universidad Panamericana. This center not only supports researchers in protecting their inventions, but also facilitates the management of intellectual property, ensuring that the fruits of scientific research can become real investment prospects.

This achievement is an integral part of the institutional strategy of Innovation and Transfer, which seeks to encourage, promote and support scientific research projects of the university community. With each innovation, Universidad Panamericana Campus Guadalajara continues to build new avenues for technology transfer, demonstrating its leadership and commitment to scientific and technological advancement.
