Aguascalientes, Ags., August 22, 2023.— Last Friday, August 18, Antonio de los Reyes Moreno, M.A., was sworn in as president of the Panamericana University’sAguascalientes campus.

“A responsibility that essentially involves serving the human person and society by helping them achieve their spiritual and material goals”—these words reflect the commitment of a university president.
Thus, the university and the Pan-American Institute of Senior Business Management (IPADE) recognized the capabilities and academic qualifications of Mr. de los Reyes, who was sworn in as the institution’s rector for the 2023–2026 term, succeeding Dr. Gabriel Domínguez García Villalobos.
Accompanied by Dr. Fernanda Llergo Bay, President of the UP-IPADE system, members of the Academic Senate, the deans of the Guadalajara and Mexico City campuses, and the emeritus deans of the Aguascalientes campus, the ceremony took place in the campus’s central garden in front of the entire university community.
“I must mention that it is a source of pride for the more than 12,000 undergraduate and graduate alumni that I have become the first alumnus to serve as president of the University of the State of Aguascalientes ( Universidad Panamericana ),” he noted .

Mr. de los Reyes Moreno is the first alumnus to become rector and is also a member of the seventh graduating class of the School of Law; he previously served as the seventh dean of that same school and has now become the seventh rector of this campus.
“As president, my primary commitment is to ensure that our students receive a well-rounded education that prepares them to face the challenges of the 21st century. We will work to strengthen our academic programs, fostering innovation and mutual relationships. We will continue to promote an education based on Christian values, one that shapes professionals with a deep sense of social responsibility and a commitment to justice and solidarity,” he said.
He also mentioned the challenges faced in the field of education and in society at large in an era of technological change, environmental problems, and social complexities, which is why the Universidad Panamericana must serve as a beacon of light, a space for dialogue and reflection where competent, ethical professionals committed to the sustainable development of society are trained; without neglecting the vital work of promoting research and the generation of knowledge that benefits science, technology, and the humanities.
“We want to be a university that consistently stands out for its academic quality and its contribution to the well-being of everyone,” he adds.
