In Support of Social Transformation

During the event , Mr. Valentín was presented with a medal, a symbol that commemorates the connection between his personal story and the Pan-American University ( Universidad Panamericana ). On the obverse of the medal is the Tree of Wisdom, which forms part of our institution’s coat of arms, accompanied by the Pan-American University’s motto: “Where there is spirit, there is freedom” (Ubi spiritus, libertas). On the reverse side is the phrase “There is more joy in giving than in receiving.”

“This award recognizes his contribution to Mexico and to human development. His dedication and collaboration serve as a strong example of significance and impact for many, strengthening the building of a better society and highlighting the role of the individual as a force for social transformation,” said Salvador Beltrán del Río, Director of Institutional Development at the Universidad Panamericana, during the event.

Working for Mexico

Dr. José Antonio Lozano, president of the Governing Board of the UP and IPADE, spoke about the adverse situations the country has faced in recent years, such as the COVID-19 pandemic and the current economic crisis, and added: “(…); because of the pandemic, more than five million students dropped out of school, which is equivalent to one in six students (…)”.

He also added:“How can we help Mexico meet the challenges of the future? By educating people.” In that regard, he spoke about the importance of providing students with a quality education and equipping them with the ability to solve problems, teaching them to develop soft skills; instilling emotional intelligence in them; and instilling values that enable young people to understand the importance of working for our country.

“We believe that for every person we educate well in Mexico, the impact that person will have on the many others they will reach—through their influence—is enormous. That is why we believe that the support provided by Mr. Valentín—which we are celebrating today with the unveiling of this plaque in this auditorium— has an impact not on just one person, but on the many people who will pass through Ciudad Panamericana over time, who will be educated and will contribute to Mexico. A peso invested in education is one of the best pesos you can spend, he concluded.

Ciudad Panamericana seeks to position itself as the largest private campus in Latin America. For its construction, it has taken into account the needs of companies, organizations and the world in general, in order to train students accordingly and provide society with professionals committed to building a better world.
