A college student’s international experience takes on special meaning when, far from home, they find a community willing to welcome them, share its experiences, and open up new perspectives. This is one of the values of the UP Alumni Network, which connects alumni and students of the University of the Pacific ( Universidad Panamericana ) in cities around the world.
In London, students from the Universidad Panamericana had the opportunity to meet with alumni who are currently pursuing their careers in organizations across various sectors in the United Kingdom and around the world.

UP Alumni Brings Together Students and Graduates in London
During a special Alumni Networking session, the following participants took part: Rigoberto Chávez of Bacardi; Fernanda Garza of HSBC; Emma Lopez Salazar of DMH Stallard LLP; Sebastian Rivas of Barclays Investment Bank; Sebastián Joo Anguizola of Octopus Energy Generation; Carlos Renato Castaneda of Chanel; Henry Hansen, MBA, of Huawei Global Finance; Ian Zúñiga of SC Johnson Lifestyle Brands; Marco Arabit of New Regency Productions; Joaquín Cruz Lamas of the University of Oxford; and Miguel Perez of Barker Brettell.
UP alumni shared their professional experiences, career decisions, lessons learned, and recommendations for thriving in an international environment with the students.
The diversity of career paths provided insight into professional opportunities in sectors such as finance, energy, law, technology, entertainment, consumer goods, education, and intellectual property.
What does the UP Alumni Network offer students?
Beyond networking, the event gave students the chance to connect with professionals who have built their careers outside of Mexico and learn about the decisions, challenges, and opportunities behind each career path.

The session was moderated by Karina Robinson, CEO of Redcliffe Advisory and Co-Director of The Inclusion Initiative at the London School of Economics (LSE), who facilitated this intergenerational conversation.
These types of events allow students not only to expand their professional networks but also to find role models close to home who can help them envision and build their own professional futures.
A university community that transcends borders
The UP Alumni experience in London reflects one of the strengths of the community at the University of the Pacific ( Universidad Panamericana): graduates who, from different cities around the world, maintain ties with their university and share their experiences with new generations.

Each alumnus or alumna who takes the time to mentor, talk with others, and share what they’ve learned helps strengthen a community that transcends generations and borders.

Thus, International Week also becomes an opportunity to experience a sense of belonging to UP beyond Mexico’s borders and to see that, wherever there is a UP alumnus, there is the potential to build a bridge to future generations.
