    Mexican, a hypochondriac, single, and, in practical terms, the grandfather of two wonderful grandnieces. I consider myself a disciple of Mauricio Beuchot and Carlos Pereda, professors at UNAM; of Carlos Llano (†) of the Universidad Panamericana; of Fernando Inciarte (†) of the University of Münster; and of Alejandro Llano (†) of the University of Navarra. 

    I attended the “5 de Mayo” public technical high school (Mexico City), and, thanks to a series of scholarships, I was able to complete my high school diploma and earn a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from the Universidad Panamericana.  

    I am committed to philosophical research, but I believe that academic rigor should not be equated with “rigor mortis.” Philosophical depth should not be a kind of hardening of the mind.

    First and foremost, I am a cultural educator. My scholarly publications, participation in committees, panels, and conferences, my teaching work, and the theses I have supervised reflect my scholarly expertise: Aristotle, his medieval commentators, and the Baroque period. My academic books include *Rhetoric, Induction, and Science in Aristotle* (1991); *Limits of Ethical Argumentation in Aristotle* (with Aguilar, 1996); *Horisms, Syllogisms, and Asapheia in Aristotle* (Spain, 2002); “Method and Science in Aristotle” (Mexico, 2005); “Arguments of Aristotle” (Spain, 2009); “Happiness, Virtue, and Pleasure According to Aristotle” (Mexico, 2013); “Happiness and Friendship in Aristotle” (Mexico, 2014); “Virtues: The Fabric of Happiness According to Aristotle” (with Gómez, 2019); “Baroque: Nepantla and Oscillating Reason” (Mexico, 2026); “Slavery, Democracy, and Bestiality in Aristotle” (Mexico, 2026). I edited: “Aristotle and the Aristotelians” (with Fonseca, 2002); “Metaphysics, Action, Will” (with Rodríguez, 2005); “From Plato to Pixar: Philosophizing in a Pop Key” (with Hansberg and Ramos, 2026). 

    I am pleased to have supervised more than 80 theses, four of which have won awards. I like to think that I have had the privilege of teaching those who will become key figures in Mexican philosophy in the 21st century. 

    In 1999, I won the National Essay Prize (1999) from the Autonomous University of Nuevo León for “Two Approaches to National Identity: Baroque and Surrealism,” co-authored with López Farjeat. The essay was published in 2000. Since 1994, I have been a member of the federal government’s National System of Researchers. Since 2005, I have been a professor in the graduate program in philosophy at UNAM. I am a researcher at the Universidad Panamericana, where, thanks to a collaborative effort, I founded the journal “Tópicos” (1991), which I edited until 2012. In 2009, Tópicos was included in the list of scientific journals maintained by the then-CONACYT. 

    Together with José Galindo, I wrote *Ethics for Postmodern Teenagers* (1998). Reclam Verlag published it in German (2000). I regularly appear on TV, radio, and digital media to bring philosophy into everyday life. Since 2010, I have hosted a weekly program (102.5 FM), which received the National Broadcasting Award in the Cultural category (2013).  

    I am actively involved in promoting culture through books, articles, radio, lectures, and social media. Since 2010, I have hosted the program “El Banquete del Dr. Zagal” on MVS Radio. I have published seven novels with Planeta, six of which are historical in nature. “Imperio,” a novel about Maximilian of Habsburg, was adapted for the stage and has been performed since 2013 at Chapultepec Castle in Mexico City.

  • Luz Maria Alvarez Villalobos

    Luz Maria Alvarez Villalobos

    Luz María Alvarez Villalobos holds a PhD and a Master's degree in History of Thought from Universidad Panamericana, Campus México. She holds a B.A. in Philosophy from Universidad del Valle de Atemajac.

    In 2003, she received the Annual José María Vigil Thesis Award in Literature and Literature, for: "The difficulties of human love in the common life in the anthropology of Karol Wojtyla". In 2010, honorable mention for his Master's thesis. In 2019 she received the categorization of Research Professor by the Universidad Panamericana.

    She coordinated the Specialty in Anthropology and Ethics at the Guadalajara Campus from its beginning in 1998 to 2001. She has been a research professor at the Humanities Institute of the Guadalajara campus since 2001. She teaches philosophy and history at the undergraduate and graduate levels. She has publications in newspapers, book chapters and scientific journals.

    She was Editorial Advisor of Culture of the newspaper Mural/Reforma and collaborator in the film section. She was the host of the television program "Hablando claro" about family issues in Mariavision. Her research interests revolve around Novo-Hispanic, Aristotelian/Thomistic and nominalist philosophy; feminism and personalism; Christianity, Judaism and Islam dialogue; and art cinema.

    She has served as Corporate Image Coordinator at Colegio Los Altos, Coordinator of Integral Formation at Colegio Torreblanca and Academic Coordinator of the School of Finance and Accounting at Universidad Panamericana.

    28 years of teaching experience at Universidad Panamericana, teaching pedagogical, sociological and philosophical subjects.

    He has been Head of Training at Grupo Tecno Gas Corporate and Head of Human Resources at Consorcio Procomía.

    She is currently University Advisor at ESDAI and Gastronomic Business Management and professor at the Academy of Anthropology and Ethics of the Institute of Humanities at Universidad Panamericana Guadalajara.

    He has taught subjects such as Linear Algebra, Dynamics, Manufacturing Processes, Strength of Materials, Descriptive Geometry and Java Programming.

  • Rocio Guadalupe Marquez

    Rocio Guadalupe Marquez

    Ms. Rocio Marquez Martinez has a degree in Industrial Engineering with a specialization in Operations Management, Anthropology and Ethics, and a Master's Degree in Value Chain Management, all four degrees obtained at Universidad Panamericana campus Bonaterra. He is currently pursuing the Graduate Certificate in Logistics & Supply Chain Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) generation 2024.

    She has been a professor in the Academy of Administration and Operations Management for 10 years. She has also served as coordinator of promotion and selectivity, as Head of Budgets of the campus and currently as Administrative Secretary and Director of the Industrial Engineering career in the School of Engineering. She is Faculty Advisor of the Faculty's representative teams before the MIT LIFTLab and the campus Formula SAE team.

  • Ricardo Macías Quijas

    Ricardo Macías Quijas

    Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Digital Communication Systems from the Autonomous University of Aguascalientes. Master of Science with a specialization in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications track, from the Center for Research and Advanced Studies of the National Polytechnic Institute (CINVESTAV), Guadalajara campus, obtained through his thesis: “Design, Implementation, and Verification of a VLSI Integrated Circuit for the Generic Framing Procedure (GFP).” He has professional experience in functional verification projects for VLSI integrated circuits used in data telecommunications for transport networks. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in engineering at the Aguascalientes campus of the National Institute of Technology ( Universidad Panamericana ).
    In his research projects, he has used VHDL to design high-speed fiber-optic telecommunications systems, telephony and switching systems, as well as signal processing and switching systems for voice signals in telephone networks.

    He has taught master's-level courses in telecommunications at the University of Guayaquil in Guayaquil, Ecuador, and training courses for the Federal Electricity Commission's National Training Center for the Southeast and National Training Center for the West.

    Within the School of Engineering, he has served as chair of the Department of Electrical, Electronic, and Control Engineering, chair of the Electronics and Digital Systems program, and academic secretary. He has also taught engineering courses in electronics, mechatronics, and robotics. He is currently the director of graduate studies in the School of Engineering.

    Ricardo Abel Espinosa Loera

    Engineer in Artificial Intelligence with specialization in Mobile technologies by Universidad Panamericana campus Aguascalientes, Master of Science by Universidad Panamericana Campus Aguascalientes with research topic HAR (Human Activity Recognition) using deep learning techniques which was awarded with the "José Negrete 2020" prize awarded by the Mexican Society in Artificial Intelligence (SMIA) to the best master's thesis. Founder and CEO of Smart App Software Solutions, a company dedicated to Artificial Intelligence projects applied to industry. PhD student at the Université de Lorraine Nancy, France with research topic "Improvement of 3D reconstruction in colposcopic images using deep learning techniques". Currently he is the Director of the Artificial Intelligence Engineering Career at Universidad Panamericana.

    Pia Berger

    She holds a PhD in Science from the Institute of Geophysics of UNAM and a Master's degree in Geology/Geophysics from the Julius Max. University of Würzburg, Germany. She has conducted research at institutions in France, Italy, Germany, Australia, United States and Mexico.
    Experience in the professional environment: Consultant in the fields of environmental remediation and energy technology in Munich, Cologne and Hanover, Germany.

    She has published several articles in national and international Conferences and Journals in the area of Geophysics, Biomaterials and Circular Economy.
    She is currently a Professor-Researcher at the Faculty of Engineering of the Universidad Panamericana, Campus Aguascalientes teaching classes in Renewable Energies, Chemistry and Circular Economy. She is directing different master's and doctoral theses on the topic of Circular Economy.
    She is the coordinator of the Dual Program of the international Master: Master in Engineering in Circular Economy and collaborating with Universities in Germany, Japan, Canada, Portugal, Morocco and Brazil.

    He is an expert translator certified by the Supreme Court of Justice and the Judiciary Council for German-Spanish translations.

    Since January 2023, she has been a member of the National System of Researchers, candidate level (through the National Council of Science and Technology of Mexico).

    Pedro Manuel Rodrigo Cruz

    Pedro Manuel Rodrigo Cruz holds a Ph.D. in Engineering from the University of Jaén, Spain. He studied Industrial Engineering at the University of Navarra, Spain. He completed a specialization in Philosophical Anthropology at the Universidad Panamericana , Aguascalientes Universidad Panamericana . He is currently a professor and researcher in the School of Engineering at the Universidad Panamericana , Aguascalientes Universidad Panamericana . He was a professor and researcher at the Higher Polytechnic School of the University of Jaén after receiving a Beatriz Galindo postdoctoral fellowship from the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation. Previously, he served as a professor and researcher in the School of Engineering at the Universidad Panamericana , Aguascalientes Universidad Panamericana , for a period of seven years. At that institution, he held the position of Secretary of Research for the School of Engineering.

    Researcher in the field of solar photovoltaics. Author of more than 50 scientific publications indexed in international journals in the field of solar energy. Author of four book chapters and two patents. Member of the National System of Researchers (CONACYT). He has participated in various research projects in both Spain and Mexico. In the field of teaching, he has taught courses at the Faculty of Engineering of the Universidad Panamericana , Aguascalientes Universidad Panamericana , in the Energy Technology Engineering and Electronic Engineering programs, specializing in Energy Efficiency and Home Automation, in the Master’s programs in Science and Engineering, in the Master’s program in Circular Economy Engineering, and in the Doctorate in Engineering. In addition, he taught courses in Power Electronics and Basic Electronics at various levels of the Engineering program at the University of Jaén.

    Óscar Dávalos Orozco

    Since he was a child, he went to school, where he learned to count; as the years went by, he also learned how to live in society. His desires were always healthy, he was a normal man: he bought when he had the desire and the money to spend. One day he knew what he wanted and his misfortune came, his normality of time turned into frustration. He dreamed of being Mexican, he longed to be truly Mexican; he found that this nationality did not exist in the market (Roberto González).

  • Omar Fernando Ruiz Martinez

    Omar Fernando Ruiz Martinez

    I am an electronic engineer with a master's degree in electrical engineering in the area of power and distribution electrical systems. I have a PhD in applied sciences in control and dynamic systems. I work as a professor at professional level since August 2015 and I belong to the National System of Researchers (SNII) with Level 1. The subjects I teach are related to Electrical Circuits, Electronics, Power Electronics and Control. I have been author and contributor of multiple journal and conference articles. I have advised students in undergraduate and graduate thesis. The areas in which I work as a researcher are: Power electronics, power quality and control, and converter design.
