IISE awards Panamericana with the Gold Award

Recently, Universidad Panamericana Campus Aguascalientes, for the second consecutive year, received the Gold Award as a student chapter of the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers(IISE). The event was held at the Unidad Profesional Interdisciplinaria de Ingeniería, Campus Guanajuato, of the Instituto Politécnico Nacional, Guanajuato(UPIIG IPN).

Gold Award

This recognition is the highest distinction awarded to the chapters that meet the objectives and parameters established by the IISE management to comply with activities that not only contribute to the education of industrial engineers and other engineering careers, but also provide them with a projection in the social and human areas.

This institute has student and professional chapters. The student chapters are identified by numbers. The Panamericana campus Aguascalientes is chapter number 787. IISE

IISE promotes student and professional chapters in Mexico, and the UP student chapter has been recognized in recent years as one that always strives to excel.

Each year we participate in a summit, where students from the chapters of various institutions share the activities they carry out. For example, social work or language promotion activities.

"The aim isto complement the student's profile. For this reason, they continually participate in symposiums, seminars, visits to companies and, mainly, in competitions, such as GeneSys, organized by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology," says Dr. Crisdalith Cachutt Alvarado, a research professor at the Aguascalientes campus. "The latter is more focused on the area of logistics, and students from our institution had the opportunity to participate in the contest".

Annually, each chapter submits a report of all these activities it promotes, and this report can be awarded with the Gold Award; a distinction that the university won this year. For this reason, the students were able to spend two weeks at this highly prestigious university in Massachusetts.
