COLLABORATION WITH BALLET COMPANY BALLET METROPOLITANO DE GUADALAJARA

The Ballet Metropolitano de Guadalajara is an independent group of artists and creators committed to the cultural and artistic development of the city, whose main objective is to provide the public with access to shows of the highest quality by presenting local, national and international artists in each of its productions.

The Universidad Panamericana Campus Guadalajara, through the Department of Arts and Culture, and the Guadalajara Metropolitan Ballet Company have signed collaboration agreements to hold master classes and open-door rehearsals at the Poliforum Panamericano.

Objectives of the collaboration

With the objective of providing support to enhance the scope of the Cultural and Artistic Projects of the State of Jalisco, the Department of Arts and Culture encourages programs to support emerging companies and artists, seeking to consolidate a close relationship with the university community.

On this occasion it extended its support to the Guadalajara Metropolitan Ballet Company by lending the facilities of the Poliforum Panamericano for their rehearsals, achieving an alliance of contribution for the university community including two numbers of the same performance within the program of the Concert "40 Christmases together" the UP Christmas event to be held on December 7 and 8; a masterclass and full access to the general rehearsals where attendees had the opportunity to have a personalized approach with artists and producers sensitizing the UP Community about the efforts that are made to carry out a production.

Presentations of the Ballet Metropolitano de Guadalajara

Under the direction of Emili Galviz and Carlos Hernández, the Ballet Metropolitano will present its adaptation of Tchaikovsky's classic "The Nutcracker" on Wednesdays and Thursdays from November 10 to December 2 at 7:30 p.m. at the Teatro Ignacio López Tarso in Guadalajara.

More than 32 artists on stage and with a contagious energy, the Ballet under the direction of Itzel Gonzalez was grateful to the Art and Culture team and the Universidad Panamericana, and now they are preparing new activities that will continue to nurture and consolidate this relationship for the benefit of the university community and local culture.
