Chef Liucu

Don Emilio Cedrún spent a great part of his life delighting the palates of many with his delicious dishes in great kitchens in Spain and France, arriving to Tierras Tapatías with his pastries.

After a career of more than 40 years as a chef, Don Emilio changed the stove and frying pans for the canvas and brushes to enter another creative stage now dabbling in his second passion: Oil painting.

"Now it's your turn, mom and dad."

The exhibition was inaugurated by Dr. José Antonio Esquivias, Rector of the Universidad Panamericana Campus Guadalajara. In his speech, Dr. Esquivias highlighted the importance of recognizing and valuing parents at all stages of their lives:

"I would like to make everyone see that fathers when they are strong, when they have their heads in business, in society, in the family, in the education of their children, are those fathers that we see as great symbols. Sometimes we forget about those parents when they are older, when they are in a stage of less strength, of less strength, with less activity".

Dr. Esquivias also called for reflection on the role of children as their parents begin to age.

"What have we and what are we children doing with our dads in return for all they gave us.. They spent their lives, they gave their time to help them and now we have to helpthem".

Moved by generosity and altruism, Don Emilio Cedrún will donate 50% of the proceeds from the sale of this exhibition to the Proyectos de Vida campaign, which promotes and supports the education of bright young people with limited resources through scholarships for their bachelor's degree. On behalf of Panamericana, we are especially grateful for this initiative to continue transforming the lives of future agents of social change.

The Universidad Panamericana Campus Guadalajara is proud to promote and celebrate cultural events that invite reflection on such fundamental topics as family and human values, reaffirming its commitment to the integral formation of its university community.
