ZAPOPAN, Jalisco; June 18, 2024.—In recent days, the Guadalajara Campus of theUniversidad Panamericana , through its Department of Art and Culture and the Office of Development, hosted the art exhibition “Now It’s Your Turn, Mom and Dad” by Don Emilio Cedrún, better known as Chef Liucu.

Don Emilio Cedrún spent much of his life delighting the palates of many with his delicious dishes in the great kitchens of Spain and France, eventually bringing his pastries to Guadalajara.
After a career spanning more than 40 years as a chef, Don Emilio traded in his stove and pans for canvas and paintbrushes to embark on a new creative phase, now exploring his second passion: oil painting.
“Now it’s your turn, Mom and Dad”
The exhibition was opened by Dr. José Antonio Esquivias, President of the Guadalajara Campus of the Universidad Panamericana . In his speech, Dr. Esquivias emphasized the importance of recognizing and valuing parents at every stage of their lives:
“I’d like to point out to everyone that when parents are strong—when they’re fully engaged in their work, in society, in their family, and in their children’s education— they’re the parents we see as great role models. Sometimes we forget about those parents once they get older, when they’re at a stage of diminished strength and vitality, and are less active.”
In turn, Dr. Esquivias called on people to reflect on the role of children when their parents begin to grow older.
“What have we done, and what are we, as children, doing for our parents in return for everything they gave us. They devoted their lives to us, made time to raise us, and now it’s our turn to helpthem.”
Driven by generosity and altruism, Don Emilio Cedrún will donate 50% of the proceeds from the sale of this exhibition to the Proyectos de Vida campaign, which promotes and supports the education of bright young people with limited resources through scholarships for their undergraduate studies.
