Freedom to Love

ZAPOPAN, Jalisco; June 25, 2024. Arts and Culture of the Universidad Panamericana The Art and Culture Department of the Guadalajara campus organized a discussion entitled "Freedom to love". The event was attended by Dr. Mariano Fazio, Argentine priest, writer and philosopher, and Dr. José Antonio Lozano Díez, President of the Board of Governors of Universidad Panamericana and IPADE.

A dialogue on the importance of reading and love

During the discussion, the renowned academics talked about the importance and impact of reading on people, especially young people. They emphasized how reading helps us to be more human, transforms us as people and allows us to develop critical and reflective thinking.

"Freedom to Love" is a play that explores the relationship between freedom and love through a journey through the classics of literature and philosophy. Fazio delves into authors such as Aristotle, Dante and Shakespeare offering reflections that invite a deeper understanding of love in its fullest and most authentic dimension.

Dr. Mariano Fazio shared that good literature enriches the way we communicate with others, since we take on a greater identity when we are in front of others, "reading a good classic makes us live other lives, it makes us travel".

A special moment

Dr. José Antonio Lozano asked Dr. Mariano Fazio about his career and the moment when he decided to "freely say yes to God." "If you are generous with God, He is not going to be won over in generosity. When we say yes to God, He is always going to be generous. Sometimes freedom costs, but it's worth it to make decisions with both; heart and head." Dr. Fazio commented.

The event was attended by on-site and virtual audiences, members of the universidad panamericana and parents from sister schools. The event was broadcast live on Facebook and YouTube. The speakers were able to convey reflections on how true freedom is found in the ability to love unconditionally and selflessly.
